Door only opens from the inside

Take out the lock and you will see the rod which slides up and down to connect to make the lock open it may be worn out have it replaced or tie a wire such as a copper wire from unused electrical wires to tighten the gap which may be lose which as a result does not catch properly to open the lock

Why wont my escape hood not openfrom the outside

Cars have two latches - one operated from inside the car.
The other is a safety (so if you operate the one inside the car while you're driving, the hood won't fly open from the wind as you drive) and you must slip your hand under the partially opened hood to find it and operate it. Sometimes tricky to locate and operate.

Fuse box

Likely a bad switch. If the locks work from the Passenger side try removing that switch and hook it up to the drivers door. This will help your determine if it's a switch issue. Not likely a fuse issue.

I have a toyota sienna 2008 minivan. The rear door got a backpack strap stuck on the latch, and it won't open. Is there any way to release the lock - it seems to have a power lock. Thanks, Kathy

have some one hold the handle openfrom outside and give it a good kick from inside.make sure you start with a weak on first and increase the intensitity little by little without breaking the cover or hurting the person outside
