If you dont have the remote for the alarm you can try disconnecting the battery and then turn the key to the on position and then reconnect the battery and try to start. sometimes that will get around the alarm

I HAVE YOUKON 1999 SUDINLY STOP IGNITION IS OK ELCRTICAL FOR THE LIGHTES IS OK BUT INGINE NOT RUNING FULE NOT COMMING TO INGINE

Sometimes the antitheft security system can turn off the injectors and/or fuel pump when there is a problem in the system. A good indicator is if there is a light somewhere on the dash that reads SECURITY. I have a 2000 dodge intrepid. The alarm never worked on it. We bought it used and all of a sudden when we go to unlock the door it turns on. Now the car won't start. I've looked online for answers and...

The 2000 Dodge Intrepid is equipped with an alarm system that is triggered when unauthorized entry is attempted. In some situations, such as having the Intrepid valet parked or when it is being serviced by a mechanic, the alarm system needs to be disarmed so it doesn't go off. Disarming the alarm will prevent it from being activated until it is armed again.
Difficulty: Moderate Instructions

  1. 1 Insert the key into the ignition.
  2. 2 Turn the ignition switch to "ON." Do not start the engine.
  3. 3 Press and hold the valet/override button within five seconds of turning the ignition on. The valet button is located beneath the steering column.
  4. 4 Release the valet/override button after the security indicator light turns off.
  5. 5 Turn the ignition switch off.

have to do it in this order

We understand that your problem is: My 95 jeep

Have it towed to a car alarm specialist that is familar with Chrysler products. With a little luck they can fix it.. To reset alarm
(if it will work}, try locking drivers door and unlock it with the remote from outside.

The 5 second thing does not sound good.. Usually this locks your ECM out so it will never start. Thinks someone is trying to steal it.

2000 ford mustang wont start unless you hit the trunk release button in the glove box

The aftermarket security alarm was shorting out. We just unhooked the alarm and that fixed the problem.

1995 Buick Riviera SC: traction and the security light

traction switch is located next to drivers left knee on bottom of dash....you should be able to turn off the traction light there by just turning on the traction control.....the security light is telling you that there is a problem with your security system....could just need a new key with a new computer chip....make sure the key is clean and dry when using so it can read the chip....the security light comes on whenever your start the car and stays on for approximatley 2 minutes and then should go out....it is just a reminder....try this and see if it works....lock the door using the power switch on door.....close door and see if the security light comes on....watch and it should go out after about 2 minutes...if it does then your alarm is activated and working....to disarm you need to unlock the driver door with the key...anything else will set the alarm off and the lights will start flashing and the horn honking...after you set the alarm off you will always have to use the key to unlock the drivers door to turn off the alarm and reset the security system.

Will not start

Try quickly turning the ignition twice and hold on the second. Also you can locate the fuse for the alarm and just remove it.
