If the battery voltage gauge goes to zero, it may be a bad connection at the battery.
Batteries generally last an average of only 3 years, but they will go bad gradually until the voltage drop on starting will drop below levels that the car can run the starter.

Try a new battery, they're not too expensive at Walmart or Sears or a local auto parts store.
Try the largest CCA capacity battery you can buy and you won't have regrets, in my experience.

Good luck on this repair.

I had the same problem recently. The dealership diagnosed the pblm as a corroded wire in the door frame that is responsible for all power windows and power locks locks. A simple rewiring and resoldering (approx. 150 CAD$) fixed the problem.

I have jeep grand cheroke 1995 V8 5.2L , only in the morning it start and check engin light on only after 5 min when sw let on

Your ecu is going bad. The power caps in the ecu are old and weak, needing time to build up current enough to supply the ignition and fuel systems. Only then will the check engine light illuminate and the vehicle start. You can either have the ecu replaced or the caps within it repaired

My 96 GC 5.2L V8 started acting up a few weeks ago by taking several turns of the key to start. Now the only way it will start is if I add starter fluid to the throttle body and once it starts it runs...

This sounds like a weak fuel pump, put a preasure gauge on the fuel rail and check the preasure with the engine off turn on the key and preasure should be 47psi to 51 psi.lower than 47 replace the pump, a few pounds make a big diffrence when trying to start,

Info panel by gear shifter is not working anymore 96 grand cherok

the info center was not working in my 96 jeep when i got it. it serves no major purpose other than a clock and to let you know when your doors are open. i replaced mine the part itself can be found at junkyards fairly cheap. i paid $65 for mine. and now i wish i had left it alone. constant annoyances and chimes.
