You can check fuse #10 (10A) in the passenger compartment junction block, or check the wiring to the vehicle speed sensor on top of the transfer case. You can also check the wiring to the speedometer head or the speedometer itself. As for the wire on the gas pedal, it could be for the accelerator position sensor, but I can't find any relation between that and the speed sensor cicuit.

Is there a fuse for gas gauge and speedometer for a 2002 gmc Sonoma

no, your fuel gauge is controlled by a fuel pump relay under your hood and if that doesn't fix's the sending unit which is inside the fuel pump, inside your gas tank...speedometer is electronically controlled from your computer...if its not working it's your relay which can be found behind your would have to remove it from your dashboard to get to it.

Speedometer, odometer, and gas gauge not working

Sounds like you have a bad Instrument Cluster (Also called a Speedometer) and the easiest thing to do is to go to a Salvage Yard and replace it. You can also go to EBAY or and there is a locator for cars by Price/Distance and you can get a used one. I just checked and there are 12 between the price of $15 - $40 on

Fuel gauge sometimes works, speedometer doesnt

as far as the fuel gauge i would look at the sending unit which is on top of the gas tank. and parts of it are inside of the tank also. as far as the speedo not working, i wouold look at the speed sensor which is mounted on the right side of the transfer case/ 4x4 unit. the sensor is probably ng or the gear is stripped out.

1987 f150 302 the truck runs only on front tank, but it pumps the tank into the rear tank then the rear tank overflows and you run out of fuel in the front, need a cheap quick fix to get through until the...

it sounds like the switching valve is no good and needs can clamp off the fuel hose to the rear tank and just run off the front tank until you can get it repaired.

Wont shift out of second, no speedometer, gas gage fluctuates

If the speedometer is not working and the transmission will not shift it is usually caused by a bad vehicle speed sensor. The fuel gauge thing is most likely not related. This is usually cause by a bad fuel level sensor inside the fuel tank.

My fuel gage says that im at a quarter tank but im actually on empty is there a sensor in the gas tank or do i need a new fuel gage

95% of the time it is your fuel level sensor in the tank. You will need to drop the tank to remove the sender to access. If you go to gm they make just the sensor for the sending unit.

Tha sensors dont work like i dont know how fast im going or how much gas im getting..

Two different sensors . Vehicle speed sensor tells you how fast your going. But remember this sensor"s mechanics is either geared into the out put shaft of transmission orthere is some type of permanent magnetic attached to that shaft that this thing works off of . Might be best if you took this to transmission shop.

Fuel gauge sending unit is other sensor your talking about. This is in the fuel tank. I advise taking the vehicle to a repair shop unless you really like the smell of gas. ( this is a dangerous repair)

Gas gage gose all over when i start it then just moves like a tack?

This is a very common problem on all GM trucks and cars. Try to find a good cleaner like the tko 1000. it works 50% of the time. If that does not work you will need to check the level sensor. Disconnect the plug (this is the main plug you will set codes) The plug if I remember right is on the transmission cross support it's grey in colour then turn the key on if the gauge stays still at full or empty you need the level sensor. they are about $120 canadian. You have to remove the gas tank to change it
