IF YOUR TALKING AN ELECTRIC PUMP THEN THE EASIEST WAY TO TELL IF ITS WORKING IS TO MAKE SURE YOUR IN A QUIET AREA,MAKE SURE HEATER,RADIO,ECT.ARE TURNED OFF SO THERE'S NO NOISES AT ALL,START WITH THE KEY IN THE OFF POSITION THEN TURN THE KEY TO ON POSITION (NOT ALL THE WAY TO THE START POSITION)AND YOU SHOULD BE ABLE TO HEAR THE PUMP CYCLE ON FOR ABOUT 2 OR 3 SECONDS TO PRIME THE SYSTEM,IF YOU DON'T HEAR ANYTHING YOUR PUMP IS DEAD.

Instead of rigging it why don't you lean how to fix it right . There are plenty of trouble shooting videos on you tube for GM fuel pump circuits . Watch scanner danners video GM fuel pump circuit testing , Also check out a basic electrical trouble shooting video . Go to www.bbbind.com/ for a free wiring diagram of your fuel pump circuit .

How do you determine that fuel pump is bad? When I bypass the relay it starts ? I can hear it run ? Can it still be bad????any trouble shooting tip ?

It is impossible to propose a diagnosis without knowing the YEAR, MAKE, and MODEL of your vehicle.
That being said, check the fuel at the fuel rail. If you are getting adequeate pressure at the fuel rail (generally 40-50 p.s.i.), and the fuel pump is able to maintain the pressure, it is working. If insufficient pressure, check the operation of the fuel pressure regulator. If that is good, verify that the fuel pump is operating and that the fuel pickup strainer is not clogged with debris. If all is well, suspect an ECU failure or contaminated fuel.
Incidentally, it sure would have helped if you would have described the issue you were having that made you suspect the fuel pump instead of asking about the fuel pump.
If you are not getting

2003 ford Taurus been sitting up try to start just spins over want start

Crank but no start is either no spark or no fuel to engine.
Best way to narrow it down is to just spray a 1 second dose of starting fluid into the air intake before you try to start it. If it does start then die it is lack of fuel or bad fuel to engine. In all the modern EFI cars the most likely faults on fuel failure with fuel in car are:
1. fuel pump failure.
2. fuel pump relay
3. fuel filter plug

If it fails to fire on the starting fluid it is lack of spark, and the trouble shooting procedure will be to investigate the coil pack.

S class not starting

do tune up replace spark plugs and wires.replace fuel filter.to trouble shoot engine not starting check for fuel or spark.if see no spark at spark plugs you could have faulty ignition coil or crankshaft position sensor faulty. could have faulty ECM.no fuel problem could be faulty fuel pump relay or pump failure code scan vechicle first before buying new parts.if all is good timing chain slipped time or broken.

1990 jeep yj 4.2 straight 6 carburated will turn over but will not start

First try shooting some starting fluid in intake manifold, and if fires up but still won't keep running, my guess next would be your looking and checking out your fuel pump. You can check that out my removing a line and see if fuel is pumping out of the out put of fuel pump. Because it it carburated its pretty easy to trouble shoot. It's going to be in most cases spark plugs , fuel pump.

What may be wrong with the car if it turns over but wont crank?

yours is a toughy 2 thing keep in mind, it probable the crank sensor, not sending a signal, thus no spark, Now if you cycle the ignition switch you should hear the fuel pump as the key is cycled, what to look for is pontiac uses a oil pressure switch to activate the fuel pump to prevent engine failure, so be aware if they say fuel pump make sure the oil pressure switch is not at fault, to trouble shoot it the have jump the relay

Fuel pump failure?

Dont pump your gas anymore you may flooded the spark plugs in your motor. It maybe that the battery cells are low and it makes it turn over but wont crank. It could be the battery also tune-up.

theft -deterrent module need to notify a dealer unless ur trained in the system messing around it well cause more prolems such as totally shutting down ur car so that u will need it towed to dealer for reset plus --security unit doesnt affect fuel voltage --- wiring harness fuel pump connection possible corroded or shorting to cause voltage loss
