Question about 1990 Volvo 740

1 Answer

I have replaced the motor in my Broan model 676 bathroom ceiling fan.The previous on worked but was going bad. Now, however, there isn't any electricity coming to the plug in used for this unit. No matter what I plug into it, there's not juice. Everything is installed & screwed into place. The circuit breaker is also fine. Please advise.

Hi,

Did you actually flip the breaker all the way off, or did you just look at it? Sometimes it can be difficult to tell when a breaker has tripped - so it's a good practice to flip it all the way off, and then back on. (Flipping it all the way off resets the breaker and it has to be all the way off, not just in the middle).

Also check if you've got a wire disconnected, or broken. If you've never worked with electricity, I'd suggest calling someone who has. (I'd see if turning the breaker all the way off worked first).
To run down the problem, the switches will have to be pulled out of the gang box, and the wiring checked. It's possible to do this as a DIY project, but you must be very careful. Turn the breaker off first, pull them out, and inspect the wiring. If there is nothing obviously disconnected or broken, then a multimeter will be needed to check voltage on the wires. Again, if you've never done this before, it would be safer to call in an electrician, or maintenance tech.

How can i prevent my bathroom ceiling paint from peeling off

One of the main reasons for the breakdown of paints in bathrooms, is of course moisture. Do you have a fan/ventilation system, (not just a recycling air filter,) that can be turned on when you bathe or shower? This would help. Also, a better type of finish would be an eggshell or satin finish type paint. The moisture cannot gather to the same extent on this type of finish.

New coolant fan and new control module but coolant fan does not work on my 2002 ford escort zx2

Try checking the fuse box under the hood. It should have a fuse marked cooling fan or cooling system. If the car does start, that means the computer isn't out, but maybe there is a bad relay by the fan or in the circuit or even the temp sensor may be bad. The fan won't run until the temp is high enough; usually by the time the thermostat opens.

Heater / air conditioner fan control doesn't engage fan. Previously, it only worked in high speed.

I would replace the blower motor resistor first then see if that corrects this. The resistor is located next to the blower motor under the dash.

Temperature gage goes up and down

The breather hose should run to the air cleaner housing or intake tube.
Check your radiator cooling fan. If it isn't working the car will run hot at slow speeds or idle then cool down after you get going faster. A quick check would be to turn the AC on and see if the fan comes on. If not try lightly tapping on the cooling fan motor with a wooden broom handle. If it comes on then you have a bad motor.
If the fan comes on with the AC then check to see if the fan comes on after the engine gets hot. If the engine temp doesn't kick it on then the temperature sensor might be bad.
If the fan is ok please post more info on your problem

I have a 1998 olds 88 And. The blower motor motor isn't working where is the relay for the blower motor exactly

I think under the hood in a fuse box.I would check the blower motor resistors connection afterwards.Turn ignition and fan switches on then wiggle the pigtail going to the resistor. Its located in the heat duct on the passenger side near the floor. These resistors are known for getting hot and melting the pigtail causing it to loose connection.

It is running hot. The fan is not coming on. The fan motor has been replaced and the Coolant Fan Relay is not bad. What next?

The one in charge of activating the fan at a determined temperature is the coolant temperature sensor (CTS), I think it's faulty and that's why the fan isn't working.

Windshield wiper sprayer won't spray and fluid tank is full

your motor could be bad you could have a bad fuse or there is something in the line or there is something in the sprayer head. if you listen around the sprayer motor you should be able to here is it is working or not if it is working it is probably something in the line or sprayer head if it is not working than it is either a bad motor or it isn't getting power if the motor isn't working I would start with the fuses.

Ceiling fan runs slow on highest setting. Or not a all on lower settings. Motor hums so it is try ing to work.

Sounds like something is binding. If you have full voltage on the fan and you can't find the source of what is binding, you will have to replace it.
