Too many silly doodads on luxury cars. assuming you can open the trunk with a key, either the button or the solenoid it operates in the latch mechanism has gone bad. I would put my money on the solenoid.

Is there a push button in the car to open the trunk

You are not indicating the brand of the car and the model. Not all cars have push buttons to open trunks. I have a 2001 Pontiac Sunfire and only way to open it is with a key. My older cars were a Celebrity and a Ford Fairlane and both had push buttons

Trunk wont open

Can you hear the lock click? You might need another person to listen while you activate the unlock mechanism. Can it be opened by a key? If so, try that. If it doesn't open, give a little push-down-and-release on the trunk lid while the key is in the unlock position.

If the lock makes no sound upon actuating an electric or lever-and-cable trunk-lid release, the problem is not user serviceable for the average car owner.

I could probably do the job, but I wouldn't, because it's too much work compared to the cost of an auto mechanic.

2007 Toyota Avalon, trunk will not open with key fob or button in car, no noise when I press either, have a flat tire and can not get in the trunk

I must have bunped it by accident to disable the trunk and didn't realize the button existed. Toyota dealer said bring it in for $125 diagnostic but then I saw the cure in the car manual.

I HAVE A BMW 735i I WANT TO KNOW WERE IS THE TRUNK OPENER?? I COULD NEVER FING IT.

Go to the trunk and put your key in and turn it all the way to the left and remove the key. This way by pushing the button at the trunk it will open, the trunk will lock when your doors are locked and the trunk will unlock when the doors are unlocked allowing the button at the trunk to work at that time. I'm not quite sure if your system works that way, or Try pushing the button that opens the trunk down by the hood release latch, or, you should have a remote key with the trunk open button on it, it should have 3 buttons, one is lock, one is open the car and one is open the trunk, if you have the automatic opening trunk, this should be the same, and to close it, just press the lock button and it should automatically go down again, as you did not specify what year yours is, one of them should do the trick...hope this helps

Trunk does not open with button inside car. Does open with key remote. Is there a bad fuse somewhere and if so which one?

Your Valet cancel switch is set.

Open your glovebox and you will see a pushbutton on the the left side, if memory serves. When this button is set, the power button will be disabled, but the key fob button will still work.
This is for when you Valet your car, you push the cancel button in the glovebox, lock the glovebox, then give the Valet your Valet key, which will not open the trunk or the glovebox. Voila, no Valet rummaging through your trunk :)

Often full gloveboxes will be the cause of the button getting pushed accidentally.
