I had a similar problem once with an Audi. I found that the relay in that case was in a plastic box about 5" x 7" under the hood. At first, I did not even realize it was able to be opened then a friend popped it open and there were several relays,( in my case the fuel pump relay) and switches inside.
You might look for a similar situation. Seems the Germans have a habit of hiding things in plain sight. Hope it helps.
Try looking underneath the steering column at the fuse panel, this might be a combination 4-way turn signal relay. If no luck there, try underneath the hood at the power distribution box, remove the lid, look on the bottom side of the lid for relay location, it might be there, good luck, Gary
I had same problem with my 1994 SL600. Also when this happens you will lose your interior door lights when you open the doors. My problem was solved by taking out the, A-white 40 amp 12V Relay and cleaning off the 6-prongs and reinstalling. It is located in the box underhood ahead of the main fuse box. Just need a phillips screwdriver. It is the fartherest relay in back left. I had to pull the one out in front of it to be able to remove the white one. You can hear it click when you push in dooropen switch. When working right you do not hear it. Hope this helps.
Turn signals depend on a small relay switch to function. It makes an audible clicking noise when the signal is engaged. If there are no blown fuses in your box, then this is my next suspect.
This relay switch is typically located under the dash near or on the fuse box panel. Even on a 1994, this relay should be a plug and play item.
Other thoughts. Make sure all bulbs are working. Some older models come on but won't blink when a bulb is out. There are other relays mounted in a box under the hood. Check all your fuses, and relays... before tearing it all apart.
Do your hazard lights work? If these are out as well, then its a sure bet that little relay is bad.
hello, have you check your wiper relay located on top of main fuse box, maybe poor contact,or your combination switch for wiper have worn-out mechanism,or your wiper motor need tobe check the condition,ty
