Replace you starter as it sounds like it is bad I had this happen on other models and the starter soon departed. As it is going out it will make that sound and I know it sounds terrible it can also drag or load your battery causing your engine to stall or becoming sluggish while Idling.

Hi.... Sounds as if you could have a loose starter motor! you need to get under the vehicle to make sure that the starter is in place first... If ok then possibly the flywheel gear or the starter pinoin could be worn causing the noise that you hear but this would not be related to stalling at lights....

Car hesitates on acceleration its a 2004 chevy cavalier

Sounds like bad fuel pump. Any way yoy can have the fuel VOLUME FLOW checked? Could be a horribly bad fuel filter broken spark plug wire that's possibly melted

2004 Yamaha r6 kinda sputters at idle does not run smooth and first gear feels real choppy. Second not much better kinda like its running on three cylinders. Up around 10,000rpm some times has good power...

Change the air filter as well as the fuel filter, and have the fuel pressure checked. it could be a bad fuel pump as well as the fuel pressure regulator.

Chevrolet Cavalier 2004 quits running while driving down the highway.

need to check fuel pressure, not just listen for pump to run, also check reading on coolant temp sensor, but sounds like fuel pump /filter issue. just because you hear pump run doesnt mean its putting our right amount of pressure. also check for plugged catylic convertor

My 2004 Cavalier will just quit running while driving.

This sounds like a failed or failing antitheft system. When the antitheft starts to fail, even just for a second, the car will stall. Normally it will start right back up, but this problem will continue to get worse. Here is a link all about it.

2004 cavalier died going down the rd.when you try to start it it makes a lot of odd buzzig sounds in the dash and you cant hear the fuel pump kick on

If the buzzing sounds like chatter, its a fuel pump relay that is either not getting enough voltage, a loose
connection, or you may just need to replace the relay.sometimes these relays will be behind the dash, accessible, or within your fuse block area, on chevy trucks i have seen them behind the glove box.
good luck!

Makes a ticking while trying to start, sometimes sounds like a dragging noise

If it makes that sound but can still start up then the starter cyliniods located outside the starter needs to be replaced. it looks like a little tiny starter connected to the starter. hope this helps.

Rattle steering wheel

Sounds like your intermediate steering shaft. Its the slip shaft that runs thru the firewall. They have a slip-stick condition that makes a horrible rattle that you can feel in the wheel. Its a pretty easy repair. Just make sure the steering wheel dosen't spin while you are changing it.

Good Luck
