Check your Manifold Absolute Pressure (MAP) sensor. Is likely that this device is no longer working or disconnected and the ECU is using a default injection setting which is on the rich side and this is causing the poor fuel consumption

I used to get around 325 to 350 miles per tank of regular gas now i get around 200 miles per tank. I have 156,000 miles on it.

first thing is how long has it been since you did a tune-up to it.second how long has it been since(if ever)has the thermostat been changed.this can cause an increase in gas mileage.how dirty is the air filter or fuel filter.if it has a maf sensor, has the hot wire in it ever been cleaned this can show the computer the wrong air flow causing bad gas mileage.is the temp sensor working correctly the one that tells the computer what the temperature of the motor is.just some things to check

I have a 2000 ford windstar, how many miles can you drive when the fuel light goes on?

you should not drive with fuel light on you will burn your pump out but the light comes on with 3 gallons of gas left so 40 miles in town 60 miles on the highway but I would not do it.

I have a 2000 voklswagen jetta 2.0 GLS and my car is only getting 180 mile per tank please help

Not possible . 180 mile per tank is single digit mpg. You would be blotting out the sun there would be so much smoke.

Make sure you fill completely. About 12 gallon in empty tank.

Reset trip on cluster and drive until half tank on gauge....check mileage.

Report back, inquiring minds need to know.

HOW MANY LITERS OIL NEEDS LEXUS RX300 2001?

You need 5 quarts in the Lexus RX300. Beware, the RX300 has a history of engine sludge problems (just search the internet for Toyota engine sludge). I would recommend Mobil 1 (this is FULL synthetic) and for viscosity I would recommend 5w-30 in the winter and 10w-30 in the summer. Your manual will verify the viscosity that I have mentioned. You must use good engine oil with this vehicle or else you will have an engine sludge problem and this could cost you a new engine. The RX300 is a wonderful vehicle and very reliable, but it requires some care that you must give it or else it will cost you a lot of money and maybe leave you stranded. For instance, change the oil regularly (no more than 4000 mile intervals) and also change the transmission fluid (no more than 60000 mile intervals). Search online for transmission failures in the RX300 - you'll find that the people who did not get a transmission flush were very sorry!!

? to Replace Timing belt on 2000 Lexus Rx300 with 57,000 miles.

If it is running perfectly I wouldn't think that you would need to replace the timing belt. You shouldn't need to replace that until 100,000-120,000 miles. I would definitely hold off until now unless you have start having some timing problems. Let me know if you have any other questions. Thanks for rating my response and for using FixYa!

Transmission!

Transmission problems in the RX300 are common for those who never flush the transmission fluid. I would strongly urge you to quit driving your RX300 and get it to a dealership where they can flush the transmission fluid. There is no transmission fluid filter (per say) but there is a "screen" inside the transmission that needs to be flushed out (this serves as the filter). Pull out your dipstick for the transmission and smell the transmission fluid - does it smell burned? I hope not, but regardless, take it to a dealership and get the tranny flushed and see if that makes a difference. Also, continue to flush the transmission every 60,000 miles at most! Lexus says that you do not need to flush the transmission, but I think you do. I have a 2001 Lexus RX300 and I have had no problems with the tranny and I've flushed it at 60,000 miles and then again at 115,000 miles. I now have just a little over 120,000 on it. It's a good running vehicle but you need to care for it!

2000 S-10 v6 4.3L Poor Gas Mileage....

Try cleaning the mass air flow sensor. If you don't already have a Haynes Manual for yor truck, pick one up at a auto parts store. While at the parts store pick up a can of mass air flow sensor cleaner spray. It is diffrent than other cleaners. Mass air flow sensor is usually located somewhere in the air intake. The Haynes manual will help you in locating where it is. Do not use other types of cleaners on it as it could damage it.
