Question about Audi A6

2 Answers

My wife messed with the luggage compartment fuses and as a result I think they are messed up location wise. The fuse layout doesn't jive with the manual and there is no sticker to show the layout. Need to know what goes where.

There is nothing embossed on the fuse box cover. It is a 2006 Audi A6. The messed up fuses have resulted in my parking brake warning light to come on and my trunk won't open.

Not necessary a fuse problem; try to reset the PCM (disconnected the negative battery few minutes), iIf the light comes back on, there is a TSB out for this issue (TSB= Technical Service Bulletin) also known as common problems.
According to the TSB the Electronic Park Brake system need a software update a the dealer. If the update does not solve the problem the Electronic Park Brake control unit needs to be replaced.

Hope that helps and keep us updated.

Hi! Have you checked the fuse box cover if there are embosed legends on it?

Ok, thanks for the clarification. Why not try this. Open the hood and remove the positive battery connector, let it sit for atleast 10mins to reset the system. Reconnect the battery connectors and this may resolve the problem. Sometimes the computer needs to relearn itself.

Radio will not power off with ignition switch

On some vehicles, this is normal. The radio will not stop playing until the door is opened....I have no way of knowing if this applies to your vehicle. As for "Fuse 19" is absolutely impossible to look anything up to see everything this fuse is protecting. If you would like good answers that may possibly help you fix your vehicle, it would be wise to take the time to post the YEAR, MAKE, MODEL and ENGINE SIZE of the vehicle you are talking about.

Also, most modern automobiles have several fuse blocks...when you talk about fuse 19, it would be wise to mention WHICH fuse 19.. in the engine compartment fuse block? In the fuse block under the dash? is it a fuse block under a rear seat? Is it a fuse block in the luggage compartment? Etc... If you are not really sure of the best way to describe it, try looking it up in the Owner's Manual.

That way, those of us that work with cars on a daily basis will understand the nature of your problem better.

Sable 2000 location fuse box location on vechicle

There are five locations for fuses on your vehicle.

1. Battery Junction Box (Front center of engine compartment, behind radiator)

2. Central Junction Box (Under left side of dash)

3. In-Line Fuse (In luggage compartment above left rear wheel well)

4. Relay Center Box No.1 (Under left side of dash)

5. Relay Center Box No.2 (Under left side of dash)

What, exactly, are you trying to fix?

2001 Tahoe..the front a/c works great...the rear a/c doesn't blow at all...thanks!

Have you checked the fuse yet? If not, the fuse you are needing to look at is located in the fuse panel located under the hood inside the engine compartment. It will be the fuse marked "RR HVAC"
Below is a picture of the location of the fuse panel and a picture of the layout of the fuses. Maybe it was just me but it took me awhile to find that fuse so I want to give you a lttile head start as to its location in the panel. It's a little to the right of the center towards the top. I hope this helps and good luck.

Look in your owner manual for the 3 fuse box locations. It is similar to our Lincoln LS.

From LS owner manual.

There is a 175 amp mega fuse in the wire harness near the luggage compartment fuse box. In circuit with Red/Blue wire.

Front power distribution box

The front power distribution box is

located in the engine compartment.

The power distribution box contains

-----------------------------------------

Passenger compartment fuse panel

The fuse panel is located on the right hand side kick panel. Remove the

panel cover to access the fuses.

To remove a fuse use the fuse puller tool provided on the fuse panel

cover.

Fan relay location in fuse box?

It depends on if you have the coupe or 4 door sedan as to a location. In the coupe I didn't see a relay but I did however see a fuse for the radiator fan in the engine compartment fuse box/power distribution center. The fuse I am talking about is in the number 2 position in that box (see picture off layout below). If it's the sedan I did see both a high & low speed radiator fan relay as well as a 40 amp fuse for the radiator fan. The high relay is located in the number 35 position and the low is in the number 34. the 40 amp fuse is located in the number 12 position in that same box (see picture of layout below). These are also in the engine compartment fuse box/power distribution center. I hope this helps and good luck,
