Where is the thermostat located on a 1997 ford Taurus SHO?

Trace the top radiator hose back to the engine. Where it ends is the thermostat housing. You'll have to drain your radiator, remove the radiator hose at the housing on the engine side, then there's usually 2 bolts that hold the housing on. remove the housing, remove the thermostat Noting which direction the thermostat is sitting, replace with the new one in the same position, put a new gasket on the thermostat housing and reverse your steps to put it back together. NOTE**** DO NOT OVER TIGHTEN THE THERMOSTAT HOUSING BOLTS*** if you strip them or snap them off you will be looking at a major repair bill.

Where do you fill the radiator on 1997 ford taurus

There is a plastic overflow container on the inner fender liner, on the passenger side, under the hood. That is where you fill it, the fluid flows into the radiator as needed.

Remove a radiator from a 2001 Ford Taurus

Ouch! Kinda steep. I'd buy a Haynes or Chilton manual for around $25. It will give you a step by step procedure. Those transmission cooler lines can be troublesome to remove, but be persistent. Sometimes a flare wrench helps to keep from rounding the shoulders on the nut or fitting. Just buy one of the correct size at a parts store. Or use the **** method-Visegrips. Works great! When you get them off, check for any little brackets that may be holding other lines secure, and bolted to the radiator sides or near the bottom. Good luck.

What can cause my car to still over heat

You probably need to go get the computer system checked out because that is telling your car its hot when it's really not. Also have them check the wiring hooked up to the fan under the hood.

1997 ford taurus losng brake fluid. No visible leak

If your not finding leaks at the wheels remove the master cylinder from the power booster and look for a leak there. You don't need to disconnect it, just the two nuts holding it on and then very easily move it away far enough to see.

My 1997 ford explorer overheated and the transmission slipped

Tranny fluid may have been contaminated with coolant since tranny cooler lines go to radiator or condensor.
I would fix your leak on radiator, then completely drain tranny fluid and filter and replace.
