This code reads "Mixture Adjustment Control" which could be O2 sensor or even MAF (mass air flow) sensor in air intake. Your gas/air mix is not being set properly by the computer due to faulty info from engine sensors. but after replacing the sensors if the problem still exists then check for vacuum leaks and clean the throttle body with carb cleaner.

As per the error (00561) it indicates Mixture Adjustment Control.

According to auto-data you should be checking the following. low fuel (is tank near empty), fuel pump pressure, intake and exhaust system leaks, engine misfire, MAP sensor, MAF sensor filament burn off, heated oxygen sensor, EVAP canister purge valve, injector, and engine oil contamination by fuel.

Also check what is your fuel pump pressure reading. it should be 2.5bar and upto 3bar under full load.if its very high you should check the fuel pressure regulator and the fuel return line and adjust the pressure.

Recheck all the possibilities 1 by 1.

Thanks. Keep updated for any more query. You can rate this solution and show your appreciation

Clearing the codes is simple that is done by removing the fuse of the EFI from junction box 2 for 10 seconds. Make sure to remove the jumper wire and switch the key off before clearing the codes.

2001 Passat check engine light flashing and car shuts off will not start

The first step is to plug in an OBD-2 scanner to read exactly what the fault code is, that is setting off the check engine light (CEL). If you are in the USA, most auto parts stores like AutoZone, Oreillys, or Advance Auto Parts have these OBD-2 scanners and will check for vehicle fault codes at no cost (free).
Since the problem seems to arise when the check engine light comes on, it is likely the code will show the exact malfunctioning part, or an area to focus on.
Without knowing the exact error/fault code, it's impossible to say what the exact problem is, that's causing the car's shutdown.

My EPC light comes on, I rand the diagnostic test and get the following error codes: PO501 PO322 P1136 P1479 I'm not particularly interested in playing whack a mole replacing each sensor. What is my...

Here try this solution...You posted P1479. ...When this fault is stored in conjunction with misfire and system lean fault codes check the PCV system and any other possible sources of engine mechanical vacuum leaks. Although PCV failure is most common on the 1.8T engines equipped with the auxiliary vacuum pump, any engine with low vacuum can cause that electric pump to run excessively - resulting in this fault code. Good luck.
