Heater core is bad, needs to be replaced as asap. check your floor board and see if it is wet under your matt. If not fixed you will ruin your carpet and it is not good to breath the vapors of the antifreeze comming out of the vents.

2005 Jeep Liberty Windshield keeps foging up what would cause it to do that. AC was blowing cold and stop then fog started coming out of the vents.

fogging inside a car out of vents
with aircon happens sometimes

nothing wrong with the air con system at all .....fog will clear

scientific cause ...cold air hits hot air
the internal temp of the car is higher than the external temp
or other way round
causing fog

Why does my kia picanto 2013 windscreen totally mist up and will only clear when i put ac on hwen it clears i turn ac off then within seconds it mists up again

the windscreen fog is from humid air coming in from the outside
air conditioners work by removing the humidity from the air so if you close of the outside vent then the recirculated air inside the cabin eventually has all the moisture removed
that is why the windscreen clears because there is no moist air to condense on the cold windscreen
now you will say that it is too cold and that is why you turn it off
well try this -- leave the ac on and adjust the heater control to produce lukewarm air no fogging up and not cold
it is called climate control

Air vent schematic

air for the inside of the car comes from the vent at the base of the windscreen or is recirculated inside the car
if you see what appears to be mist, fog or smoke from the ac vents ,it is extra cold air from the ac system that is seen as fog when it hits the air in the car
you will know exhaust fumes by the smell

I have a 98 Olds. Bravada I had a new radiator installed but every once in awhile it will blow fog or mist through the vents with a coolant smell to it I was wondering what the problem is?

Hello there:
This is a sign that your heater core is starting to plug up and over time this mist will come out of the vents as you run it.
Then finally it will go out and you will have to replace it
So i would highly suggest replace it now before winter sets in the prices are cheeper on these during the summer ok
Hope this is very helpful for you
Best regards Michael

In my 1998 Honda Accord Lx the hot air does not come out of the heater vents in the floor, the same is true for cold air in the middle vents on the dash. The side vents on the dash work fine.

Stuff coming out of AC vents

Thats normal for an older car..
It is debris & foam insalation that is around the ducking..
Worse thing that might happen from that is you loose a little insalation,, and make a clean car a little messy..

A/c is not cooling

If there's mist coming from the vents, it sounds like the heater core is leaking. Check the coolant level as well as the floor of the car for signs of dampness. You may also find the smell of coolant inside the car. If these signs are present, you should have the heater core replaced. Best of luck and post back with any other questions or concerns.
