Question about 1999 Honda CR-V

Engine light and chugging 99 CRV

My CRV stared by with the check engine light going on and staying on. We took it to a shop and they recommended cap and rotor, plugs and wires. My mechanic buddy fixed those for me. This did not fix the problem. Could it be my 02 sensors or ? It is chugging, sometimes violently shaking while idling. When I accelerate it is rough and guttless. Thanks for any help

    Thanks...

the codes were PO301, 303 and 304. the shop mechanic recommended fuel injection service and valve adjust. Do you think these would remedy the problem? I don't want to do it if its not going to help because they overcharge there. That mechanic also said he thinks there is carbon build up in my engine. Any tips on how to help that?

    Thanks again!

Make sure to have your mechanic buddy check for correct firing order
and engine compression becasue any thing mising in the cylinders eill cause a misfire code,
and what codes are you geting?
idont belive than you need an 02 sensor because with a present misfire teh o2 sensor will read rich or lean but most likelly rich

AGAIN MAKE SURE THE FIRING ORDER IS OK TELL THIS TO YOUR FRIEN AND GO AND BUY AN INJECTOR CLENER AN ADD IT TO THE FUEL TANK, THIS WILL START CLAEANING ANY CARBON IN THE ENGINE AND CLEAN THE INJECTORS, BUT MOS LIKELLY YOUR FRIEN MISROUTE THE PLUG WIRES AND THEY NEED TO BE PLACED RIGHT

ALSO MAKE SURE THE SPARK PLUG ARE TIE BECAUSE IF THEY ARE LOOSE YOU NEED TO REDO THE SPARK PLUGS EVEN IF THEY ARE NEW

Check engine light comes on but I do not know what to check. I did check the gas cap several times put it on again but the light stays on "check engine"

Go to any of the Parts Retailers in your area and they will check the code for you and tell you what they believe the trouble is.

Chugging Expedition my 1999 for expedition is chugging non stop, the check engine light will flash going up hill but does stay on.

although the check engine light goes off, the code is most likely still locked in. stop by your local advanced auto parts, or mechanic to have them check it out.

I have a 1994 Buick the "Check Engine Soon" light stays on although it has been recently serviced, any ideas?

the check engine light covers about 60 different sensors. It could be anything from a loose gas cap to a head gasket. The best way is to have the scan done. Some shops do this free, some charge an hours labor. Personally, I'd go to WalMart and buy one to have. $99. This will tell you everything you need to know. Good luck

2009 crv check fuel cap

Go to the parts store where you bought the cap. Sometimes the code clears on it's own and sometimes you need to have it reset. If this is not an option disconnect the negative battery cable for a minute. Just as a warning, if you disconnect the battery you will have to reprogram most all of your electronics.

The diagnostics module does not work. When my check engine light came on I took it several places but there was no power. All fuses are good and triple checked. I took it to a shop 3 weeks ago they ran...

the cigar lighter fuse usually powers the scan tool. If the light is on, take it back to the shop that did the gas cap repairs. there may be more to the leak than the gas cap.

Check engine light has come on a few times tighten gas cap and it goes off this time light stayed on changed gas cap

The problem has nothing to do with the gas cap. There are a thousand reasons why the light could be on. Have a repair shop scan the computer for trouble codes and they can recommend what needs to be repaired.

Hello. go back to auto zone and have them reset your computer so there are no codes. then drive as usual and wait to see if the check engine light comes on again soon. Most likely it will not. AAMCO repair shops also do a free scan and reset.
