It's located where the fuel line enters the carburetor. I'm not exactly sure what you're asking. But in any event. Remove the fuel line without twisting it. Remove the filter housing (it too unscrews) remove the spring that holds the filter in and remove the filter. The filter is installed with the opening facing out towards the fuel line so that fuel can enter the center, pass through the filter, and enter the carb.
Hope that helps.

88 Trans-Am GTA 350 5.7 TPI fuel injected...Car will start and run 10 mins and then just die. Wont start for 2 hours and then when it does start it only runs 10 mins then dies again. Dont know what to do...

Your fuel filter may need to be replaced and the other area that needs to ab addressed would be a ICM (ignition control module) going bad. Common for ether issues to cause you the same problems.
You can have your ICM tested at Auto Zone free of charge and you can also pick up the fuel filter from there.
Thank you for using fixya and good luck

Hi. my car is pontiac trans sport 2.3 16v. I need chaing the fuel pump and nozils for it, because high amaount of a fuel is loses therefor, i need the properties and detiels of the fuel pump and nozils for...

Are you certain that the fuel filter isn't bad and leaking gasoline?

There is a cheap plastic locking mechanism holding the fuel filter inline with the outlet side of the filter. Mine went bad and started leaking fuel everywhere i went. Especially when I was stopped at a light for a long period of time. A cheap tool can be bought at any automotive parts store to remove the old filter , you will need the tool to install a new filter.

If the filter is okay then I would just disregard my post.
thank you
