A vehicle speed sensor provides a signal for the cruise control and also for the ABS braking and the overdrive function. I would start with finding the fuse for the cruise control in your owners manual. Also some cruise controls have vacuum lines attached, if so, check for cracked or broken vacuum lines. Good luck.

What do i do if the cruise control self test does not work

there is no self test I know of. First, make sure your brake lights go on and off ok when you step on the brake. The brake switch deactivates the speed control when depressed.

Next, check the fuse for the speed control. See owner manual for fuse charts.

Next, what happened when it quit? Suddenly, cut of while driving? etc.

2001 Crown Victoria criuse control stopped working, everything else works

It has it's own fuse and the connector where the cable connects to the throttle body has been known to hop off check to see that it's connected and also pull on it to see thats connected on the cruise unit end.. If the check engine light is on the curise will be disabled by thecomputer. if the cruse has a vacume hose at the break pedal and an electricl switch at the break pedal too they get knockedoff and the vacume hoses at the unit and where they connect ot the engine.

2005 Honda Accord 4cyl cruise control does not work

check all your fuses first then take a look at the brake switch and there is a criuse cancel switch also, i think there may be a problem with the switch, even if the cancel switch was bad i think the power would still stay on but cruise would just stop and power would stay on. check fuses and switches anyway to be sure then take a look at the power switch.

All gages in instrument cluster and cruise control just quit working. Checked all fuses in box underhood and at left end of dashboard, all ok

SOUND LIKE THE IGNITION SWITCH IS OPEN.IT FEEDS POWER TO PCM AND INSTRUMENT CLUSTER THEN TO CRUISE CONTROL AND OTHER CIRCUITS.IF THE IGNITION FUSE IS GOOD IT HAS TO BE THE SWITCH OR A BROKEN WIRE.

Cruise control

ok, there are two issues. one could be a fuse that you can exchange out with a working one. secondly, this could be a sensor that is connected to the cruise control assembly under the hood. i would pop the hood to see if the cruse control assembly has became stuck or the cable may have been severed as well.
