Question about Chevrolet C1500

Open Question

'93 Chevy C-1500 V6 4.3L w/TBI -stalls. I have changed distributor, cap, rotor, plugs, wires, coil, map sensor, fuel filter. Checked EGR, TPS, and fuel pumps a gallon every 2 minutes. No apparent vacuum leaks, battery and alternator good. Good compression on all 6. What suggestion would you have for me?

    Ended up being the little hose on the fuel pump. Replaced the entire fuel pump and runs like new.

There is a port on the fuel ine to check the pressure, it looks like a tire valve, it should have a plastic cap on it. Do you have a guage?

My problem was solved when I repaired my 4 wd activation dash switch. The switch was contacting on 2WD & 4HI at the same time. The front differential activation is vacuum activated possibly creating a tug of war that didn't actually engage it but drained off vacuum from the engine? A theory at best but stumbbled across it because I knew the switch wasn't working properly I repaired it and low and behold rough idle disappeared and all is good for 3 weeks running.

Wow you have replaced a lot of stuff. Lets go back to the Fuel pump. When you replaced it did you replace the hose between the pump and the sending unit. These are common for splitting. Have you hooked up a fuel pressure gauge to check what pressure you have? It should be real close to 13 psi and should raise to at least 18 or 19 when you pinch off the return line.

there is a tube coming off of the iac that causes that , it needs to be replaced

Have you checked for injector pulse with a noid light at the injector connector? You could have a bad ecm.

Stalls out when put in gear. like not getting enough gas.

Need to verify air, fuel, ignition, and computer codes.
Is there a fuse blown or bad wire connection on battery, alternator, or grounds to frame?
For TBI ( Throttle Body Injection ) systems, is the check engine or Service Engine Soon light on or had come on?
That will most of the time tell you by the code what electrical computer sensor or component is faulty.
I recommend the Haynes Repair Manual for your specific year range of make and model. There are more trouble shooting helps and test with computer codes too.
When there are no codes in computer, check the MAP sensor vacuum line and connector; TPS sensor; distributor cap and rotor, spark plug wires, spark plugs and the spray pattern from the TBI injectors ( when engine is running ).
When was the last time the fuel filter ( usually mounted on the inside of the driver's side frame rail ) was changed?

How do I disengage TCC on 1989 Chevy Caprice?

What has happened more than likely, unfortunately, the internal piston seals on the servo controls have gotten hard and not usable after this period of time sitting still. The answer is to remove and replace all the seals inside the transmission. Sorry this is the answer, but that is from my 35+ years experience in trans. overhauls. You should not have to replace clutches and plates, also make sure there is no rust on the internal drums from sitting still.

im having a sim issue guys.. my 95 auto. once it hits running temp it dies. checked at that temp no spark.. did the coil plugs wires dist.cap n rotor fpr purge sensor and egr sensor.

I have a 1988 k1500 seirra truck, that will idle fine then it will chock its self out and stall out.(i have a new egr synolyd,new egr, a 1992 ecm pulled from a junk yard,new cap,rotor, plugs...

Are you a TBI?(throttle body injector) if you are take the top of the air cleaner out step on the gas pedal(do this in park hood open fire extinguisher on the ready.) does it backfire through the air cleaner if it does you are in need of a whole distributor unit the distributor unit has a relector that has a high tendency for failure by the way the vehicle sound there is only 2 possible problems you coil is faulty and this includes the connection to the coil which has a tendency to seperateor the connection to the ICM.(ignition control module where the coil is) or the whole distributor reluctor

My truck idles up and down i have replaced everything on it all sencors etc. I have checked for vacum leaks and have replaced all of the lines replaced the gasket under the tbi the only thing i havent...

hi i see you have changed allot of sensors, but i notice you have not mentioned the Idle Control Valve? iCV have you changed this? as that what it sounds like it will be, also have you checked your timing? that would also do it....hope this helps

It sounds like they have got the distributor out of time. You will need to adjust the distributor. That is what it sounds like.

93 accord stalled while driving....

pull one of the plugs out leave the plug wire on it and rest it on something metal on the car and have someone try to turn it over.if no spark can be seen try changing your crankshaft sensor
