Question about 1992 Chevrolet Corsica

Open Question

My Chevy Corsica blows the 15 amp fuse that is connected to the computer and fuel injector every once and awhile. When it happens the car dies and coast to a stop. After setting for a few minutes you can put a new fuse in and the car will run again for a few days. And Sometimes it blows 3 or 4 fuses before it starts again other times you stick a new fuse in and it kicks right over. Mechanics that I have taken it to have given up because it never shorts out when they have it..or stays shorted out by the time its towed to them. Any ideas out there?

SOURCE: 2005 Chevy express Fuel pump relay meltdown 6.0L

The horn relay was shorting out but not activating the horn. When you swapped it out it sounds like the fuel pump was running all night killing the battery. It sounds like the relay had a dead short inside and melted itself to the fuse box. Depending on the extent of the damage you might have to replace the fuse box as well as the relays.

SOURCE: I have a 1998 chevy blazer (s-10) 4.3L 4x4 it

check transfer case electrical switch, sometime if it bad it will also blow the fuse. don't recommend you put any higher fuse than recommend, If the fuse blow there is a short some where and by putting higher amp fuse you might short or burn something else beside the fuse. if that check out than check your transfer case motor, might lock up and not allowing the motor to turn instead it short the fuse. don't drive the car, just leave it in park, put correct fuse amp back in and unplug transfer case electric switch and turn the key on (dont start the car) and see if the fuse blow; if not plug it back in and see if it blow the fuse. if that is not the case, unplug transfer case wire, and do the same and see if it blow the fuse.

How do you check to find which fuel injector is blowing your 15 amp fuel injection fuses?

Hi K Jones, I'm glad to help!

The only way other then checking the resistance of each Injector would be to unplug one Injector at a time until the fuse doesn't blow then you have found the bad injector. NOTE: Don't rule out a wiring issue grounding out on the engine somewhere because this happens a lot. Hope this helps and have an awesome day K.

Ok i have a 92 chevy corsica and after it has been running awhile when i go to slow down to stop at a stop sign the car dies how do i fix it

well if it runs normal when your driving then it sounds like a gas problem or maybe you need to adjust your idle a little bit, other than that it could be fuel filter or carburetor adjustments

Had no spark. Replaced ignition mod, 2 coil packs, and computer. I now have fire; problem is engine will not run, the fuel injector sprays fuel (too much i think). When i unplug the injector the engine...

Check for any wiring pinch which might have occurred when the injector was replaced. The injector is driven directly by the computer, so it seems to point at the new computer as being faulty. (pulse signal is always 'on')

1988 chevy corsica ever since we got some fuel

You may have gotten a gas can full of water ( not literally ) but there was plenty of water to make a difference. Check the fuel filter I would completely drain the fuel tank and blow out the fuel lines. Is this a multi port or throttle body injection ( you may may want to clean your injectors ) ANY WAY CHANGING YOUR FILTER SHOULD SOLVE YOUR PROBLEM GOOD LUCK !!

Fuel Injector fuse blows?

Could be a bad fuel injector pulling too many amps, or could be a bad wire on one of the injector/s harness grounding out causing it to blow. Check the wiring, and see what you find.
