I have the same issue with a 2002 325i. Under normal conditions, with the a/c on, everything works fine and you get cold air. However, what has been happening recently is that the fan just stops blowing air for some reason. The fan will turn on and off spontaneously, more off than on, but it stays on for a couple minutes at a time. The a/c compressor still appears to be operating because you can hear the load on the engine, and while the fan is on the system is blowing cold air.

There may have been symptoms of this over the past few months, because I noticed that the fan speed had begun fluctuating at times, but it never flat out shut off as it has now.

Hi its your final stage regulator theres a guy on ebay selling them for about £45 gbp...the regulator when broke causes the fan to surge up and down and turn itself off and on by itself. ive just changed mine im 1000 percent sure of this..;)

Air conditioner blows hot air

there can be a problem to air conditioner of the car . I guess you just have to go to the dealer or the toyota car shop for repair of the air conditioner . may be it's the fan of the air con that is not working properly. they can replace it .Because it is design to that car .

I have the same problem exactly, if i turn off the ignition and then turn it back on it begins blowing cold air again. I would like to know what the problen is as it sounds like it is not unique to just my vehicle.

Ac doesnt work

Might be a loose connection - Or simply the blower motor - In which case the blower motor would need to be replaced.

Air conditioner

Possible solution for susuns: turns out my problem was an improper freon charge. If your problem is the same as mine your a/c cools very well, but stops blowing air after about 20 minutes. If so, your evaporator core is freezing over and the ice is blocking air flow. Also after parking the truck water will continue to drip from the truck for a long time. To test this theory next time it occurs, switch the selector to vent and the fan to high. You should notice the air flow return within 5-10 minutes or less, however the air will still be quite cold due to the ice formed on the core. If all this fits your situation, take your truck to an experienced technician and have the freon pressures checked. My system needed to be charged a little on the high side to prevent the freezing up.
Hope this helps, capn0623
