I think you are talking about a power reduction light coming on after the check engine light came on right if so it has detected a fault in the system that requires attention you will need to have codes read to determine the cause of the problem hope this helps

Truck wont start

Starter fluid won't work if the starter won't turn the engine over.

Get the battery load tested...it may not have enough juice to start the truck but have enough to light up the lights

check your fuses and battery connections at the starter. Is the anti theft light flashing? If it is that's your problem. Wait 10 minutes insert the key...wait for the theft light to go out before trying to start.

if that doesn't work you will need to get the starter checked...which means you will have to take it off.

check battery for enough cranking power, if battery is below 8 volts, your dash lights will work, but you wont have enough power to start the engine

charge the battery.
so that wnen rested it reads 12.6vdc. then it will start.
also check all fuses in both fuse boxes.
they might have tried hot wiring things (like on TV) and blew fuses.
the battery is first. no power, all toys and EFI go , dumb.

I have a cool start remote starter... on the remote starter the blue light goes on when i press the start button, unlock, or lock button....so i kno the battery isnt dead. but it just wont work. my freidn...

The starter need a lot more charge to crank the engine then lights, door lock and other auxiliary equipment. So it could be a battery. Try jump wire your car. If this does not help - check the starter relay in the relay box of engine compartment.

Starter motors good but wont turn over my1982 lincoln continental

When you say the starter motor runs, do you mean it runs fast but does not turn the engine, in that case it may be something to do with starter not engaging the ring gear.

If when the starter runs it turns the engine slowly then it could be starter is not getting enough power.

The reasons for starter motor not getting enough power can be, a bad battery, loose battery connector, stiff engine or a bad starter solenoid.
To check a bad battery, turn your head lights on and when you try to crank the engine, if the light go dim, you have a bad battery or a bad battery connection. If the lights are not affected you may have a stiff engine.

If the remote start is GM, Start the car, shut it off, Get out, lock the doors, Wait for the front end lights to go out, press the lock button, press the start button. The engine should start.

Added Fuel Line Cleaner & now the Check Engine Light Wont Go off!

The cleaner won't hurt it at all at any fuel level.
The light could be MANY things.
Just have the codes checked and you will know what it's asking for.
Driving it with the check engine light on will reduce your mileage and increase emmissions about 20%........and thats all.
Enjoy your drive to Boston.

Remote starter

Apparently the vehicle was in park enough to get the key out, but not enough to get it to turn to start or allow the remote starter to work. Once it had been jiggled around and put ALL the way into the PARK position, all works well again!
