Heater not working from my 97 GMC jimmy. Change

Do you feel heat on both heater core hoses? If not then it might have a blocked heater core, low coolant level, defective heater control valve or a blend door issue.

1998 Jimmy with electrical controls for temperature. Replaced Themostat, Flushed heater core, replaced damaged vacuum lines. Vehicle produces heat to heater core but only luke warm interior temp. Rotated...

Suggestion: see if the blend door opens or closes completely to allow all air through the heater core. To see the blend door moving, remove the panel that says "Cut here for service" under the hood along the firewall. I have a 99 Bravada where the blend door keeps moving back and forth constantly. Changed the blend door actuator but still keeps moving. The air inside is only warm since the door keeps allowing bypassed air through.

I have a 1999 Jimmy, the heater just blows cold air ownly, temp. knob works but somthin is stuck, the AC work great, but I need heat, where should I be lookin, to make it work right? I live on the west...

Sounds like the heater cor is plugged. I belive yours is under the hood. Look for a set of 3/4 inch heater hoses going into the firewall. Remove the output hose(bottom)and start the engine to see if water comes out of the heater core. If it does, it is a stuck blend door inside the duct work of the heater, which is under the passenger side dash

We just bought a 1999 GMC Jimmy and the heater doesn't work. The fan blows but there is no heat. The air conditioner works fine.

Could be that the heater core is disconnected, there are two hoses that attach to the heather core that come out of the engine, this provides hot water to the core thus making the heater work, when the heater core starts leaking water the quick and fast fix would be to bypass the heater core and connect the two hoses together, check under the hood on the left passenger side there should be two hoses about 1" thick see if there are connected together or of they seem to be connected to 2 outlets that come out of the inside of the vehicle. people do that specially if selling vehicle.

2000 GMC Heater Problem

I had problems with a similar truck,a 1998 GMC diesel after checking to make sure the control cables were operating the blend door and blowing the mess of the heater core,I replace the thermostats.Still no heat turns out there was a small amount of debris collecting in the fitting for the inlet hose at the thermostat housing after removing it and blowing out the lines the heat was fine.
