My 1995 subaru legacy wont idle after changeing timeing belt

If the vehicle was idling proper before timing belt replacement, it is possible the valve timing is not correct due to belt not being installed/lined up properly. If belt was changed because it was broken, chances are there is valve damage internal to the engine causing this issue

I have a 1992 subaru loyale that will not fire. it turns over, but won't start. Same thing with a 1989 subaru gl??????

Have you replaced the timing belts recently? The timing belts in these cars run both the cams and the distributor. If one comes off or breaks the engine wont do anything. The fix is not too bad if it is just the belt(s)

You may need more than a belt replacement; the link below will show the characteristics of Subaru engines and the H-6 is listed as an 'interference' engine, meaning that when the timing belt breaks, it is possible for the pistons and valves to collide which can result in bent or broken valve stems and/or damaged pistons. In this case, it is wise to have a pro examine the engine and replace the belt.
It is also possible to damage this engine by improperly installing the new timing belt.
Some of the details may be at odds with your specific model but the mention of this engine being an interference engine is enough to give one pause-

I want to replace the timing belt on my Subaru Impressa Outback with the 2500 cc motor and want to know if it recommended to replace the water pump at this time.

not to bad a job, the manuals make it sound worse than it is, remove radiator ( better than damaging it ),all the pulleys have timing marks on them that align with marks on heads also the new belt will have marks on also ,which also lineup with marks on the pulleys, if needed this is a good time to replace the camshaft seals ,if the water pump needs replacing then yes its agood time to do it ..
