you need to check the breather hose from the fuel filler going to the tank. you may need to replace or fix them to avoid air pocket while filling gas.

Gas leaks on the ground when refueling from a blk tube underneath my car 2011 ford tauras

There is a over flow tube that is connected close to the top of the filler neck. It allows fuel to return back to the tank instead of overflowing back out towards you and covers you up with Gasoline. That area could have been in a accident at one time and not been repaired right or a Factory Fault, not likely to be the age of the car.

SES Light comes on after we refuel vehicle, code is bad gas cap. We replaced the Gas Cap 3 Times. It still comes on after refueling.

this is not just a bad gaas cap code. it is a leak code for the evap system and will need to be tested to find leak. look underneath vehicle and check hoses on the evap canister for cracks or fallen off the canister is next to tank rectangular box. if dont find anything it will need to be "smoke" tested to find the leak

Gas smell inside car and when refueling it constantly stops like the tank were full

beetles have what they call a "positive pressure"gas tank(the vent is in the cap)and it has a restriction in the filler to stop fuel leaking out if the car overturns. So if you try to put too much fuel in it will kickback and fill the recess in the fender.hence smell in car after refilling.......
(had 30 plus beetles in 3 years all great....when i worked for vw).

2005 Hyundai Santa Fe won't start after fueling

After change fuel pumps per diagnostics still had problem with starting after fueling. Researched on-line and kept seeing purge control valve as solution. Mechanic didn't think it would do anything but filled up three times now and so far so good. part was $49 and he was nice enough not to charge for labor

Car won't start right away after refueling

I just fixed a similar problem on a Toyota Corolla. I'm not certain if your car's EVAP system setup is the same, but this could resolve your problem as well. Your car may have one or both: A refuel check valve, and/or a fuel cutoff valve. Generally these are located off of the fill tube, but the cutoff valve may be mounted on the fuel tank. 01e0b34.jpg
The problem occurs when your fuel tank is overfilled and/or gas flows into the EVAP line. The gas is too high in the filler neck thereby causing fuel to flow into the charcoal canister. A defective refuel and/or fuel cutoff valve would cause this problem. The cutoff valve prevents fuel from flowing into the canister, and the refuel valve helps to trigger the gas pump to stop.

Test refuel check valve (if installed) by blowing air from larger to smaller port. Air should not flow freely and the valve should open as pressure increases. Air should flow freely when blowing from smaller to larger port. Replace valve if it fails either test.

Test the fuel cutoff valve by holding it upright, as installed on car; air should flow freely. Turning upside down should prevent airflow. Also, fuel present in the check valve may indicate the tank was over filled meaning you possibly have fuel in your charcoal canister.

Is your engine warning light on? For the Toyota, code P0441 "Incorrect Purge Flow" was present. Just replacing a defective valve may not get rid of the code. It's possible that your charcoal canister was saturated with gasoline too so that may need to be replaced. I also heard of a situation where the fuel tank was contaminated and had to be cleaned.

Replacing the cutoff valve solved my problem. Good luck! Related Link: http://www.2carpros.com/forum/1998-toyota-corolla-vt190664.html
