Check the cooling fan relays. in the relay box it will be marked cooling fan realy
use a test light to see if you have a 12volt hot going in and after the temp startsto move up, you should then have another 12volt hot going outof the relay. if you do the fam motors are bad. 1 will come on automaticly when you turn on the A/C or heater in the defrost mode. check that first.

The most common cause of this problem is that the drivers seat heater grid is open or burned out. That is based on 25 years as a Ford dealer technician.

The truck is overheating every time the a/c is on but the thing is when the a/c is turning off and on every 10 seconds, and engine looses much power with a/c on... thanks

{: ) If the engine running performance is well and good without the a/c, observe the a/c compressor performance and cooling. A cycling compressor can be caused by high pressure on the discharge side. The higher the pressure, the more heat will be generated specially at the a/c condenser. Engine overheating and poor a/c cooling has one common factor: the engine cooling fans. Normally when you turn on a/c, additional load and heat will stress the engine. For the cooling fans, there is a low and hi speed. If these cooling fans do not operate at precise timing and speed, the heat generated by the condenser and radiator will combine and rise up to a critical level. So better check carefully the condition and operation of your cooling fans. Check also the fan relays and fuses.
I just hope it's not a module issue, it will need more diagnostics, and very costly ,too.

2002 impala 3.8. Overheated. Had coolant leak.Replaced bad coolant elbows and thermostat with fail-safe. Car still overheats. Noticed cooling fans not running when A/C turned on. Blown fuses. Replaced....

A bad relay will not blow a fuse. The radiator cooling fan must run with the A/C on or the vehicle will overheat and the A/C will perform poorly. First I would check the draw on you cooling fan motor-it may be blowing the fuse, or you have a wire shorted to ground.

The radiator fan is not coming on when warm, but I still have heat and not over-heating?

Your heater blower, inside the car works to provide heat to the interior of your car, and the air is hot, right? If the cooling fan is not coming on, depending on the outside ambient temperature, you may be using your heater coil for the heater to dispell suficient heat (inside the car), combined with a low outside temperature to keep the engine at normal operating temperature negating the need for the cooling fan. OR your coolant temperature sensor is bad, and the ECU doesn't know that the engine is hot and to turn on the fan. This sensor works by changing the voltage returned to the ECU depending on the temperature of the tip, which changes the resistance to the computers inquiry. So, the computer knows the temp of the coolant. It uses this information to adjust mixture gauge etc. Most now have 2. One for the gauge, and another for the ECU. So don't go by the gauge working. Then there is the fan motor itself. This can be tested by using a testlight on the wires when the engine temperature gauge in at 3/4 to the hot side of the gauge. The other way to test is to bring a live wire to the motor. If the motor is good, the sensor is bad, if the motor is bad, well the motors bad. I hope this helps you, write back if you need additional assistance. . Please take the time to rate our free service, and my performance. Thank you for trying FixYa.com!

You can test the system by disconnecting the engine temp sensor that turns on the fan, the engine computer will go into failure mode and turn on the cooling fan, if the fan does not run check for voltage at the fan with a 12 volt test lite..
