If it's the fan for your radiator, you must have a broken belt or the water pump, If it's the A/C fan that doesn't turn on, check with a test light to verify if the fan is receiving electricity by putting one end of the test light cables to the negative port of the car battery and the other cable to one of the wires going to the fan. If light turns on, you have a connection but a damaged fan.

Radiator fans not working car is running hot.

Turn vehicle off. Allow to cool. Raise hood.
Try to see if the fans spin freely by hand. If not, replace. If they do spin, proceed to next step.
Next step-
Check coolant level, add if needed. Remember-radiator must be cool before opening cap. Make sure radiator cap is secure and tight if coolant was added.
Start vehicle. Observe coolant gauge as vehicle warms. Fans should come on when temp gauge reads halfway between c and h.
If fans do not come on see if they come on when you turn on ac or heat. If doing this makes them come on, suspect faulty cooling fan sensor switch. If they don't come on replace cooling fan sensor switch and fan relay.

Radator fans will not come on 1996 neon

The older Dodge neon cooling system has always been a problem, so this will not be easy to diagnose and repair.

A little background. There is a temperature sensor in the coolant system that sends that information to the PCM and the PCM then sends a signal to your temperature gauge to register it. Once the temperature of the preset peak, the PCM then sends a signal to the cooling fans to turn on, so the do NOT run at all times when the engine is turning, only when the coolant level reaches a preset level (in the 200F to 235F range). The one exception to that is when the AC is turned on, the radiator fans should be told to turn on. So start the car, turn on your ac and see if the cooling fans turn on. If yes, you don't have a problem with the cooling fans. But that doesn't mean that you don't have a problem with your cooling system. If the car is overheating, you need to find out if the PCM is sending a signal to the cooling fans to turn on. If it isn't the trouble could be in the PCM.

The electric cooling fan would not shut off so i unpluged the fan then plugged it back in the next morning and now it wont come on until i unplug theheat sending sensor 99 escort 2 liter automatic

Sounds to me like the fan relay stuck on in the first place. Are you sure that the coolant is getting warm enough to turn on the fan? Most cars don't turn on the fan till the coolant gets to 226 F. You might want to change the sensor if this is the case. Sometimes the sensor wont read high temp's. We know the relay and the computer are working now because the fan comes on when you unplug the sensor.
Post back if you need to know more about the system.
Have a nice day!!

Engine cooling fans don't come on

COOLING FANS DONT TURN COULD BE FAULTY FAN RELAY.FAULTY PCM AND FAULTY COOLANT TEMPERATURE SENSOR.CODE SCAN FOR FAULTY PCM CODE AND A FAULTY COOLANT TEMPERATURE SENSOR.SEE IF ENGINE COOLANT TEMPERATURE SENSOR IS GIVING CORRECT COOLANT TEMPERATURE USING A CODE SCANNER.IF ENGINE IS 190 DEGREES AND THE ENGINE COOLANT TEMPERATURE SENSOR READING 100 TO 80 DEGREES COOLANT SENSOR IS BAD.HOT WIRE COOLING FAN TO SEE IF FAN MOTOR WORKS.BECAUSE COOLING FAN MOTOR COULD HAVE OPEN CIRCUIT CAUSING ELECTRIC MOTOR NOT TO TURN ON.

Sounds like your cooling fans on the radiator are not working. The fans are activated by a thermol switch on the engine or radiator reading the coolant temperature and an A/C switch. When the coolant is too hot the fans should activate cooling the system down. And, when the A/C is on the fans should also activate in order to cool the condensate so the A/C would work.

When you are driving, the movement of the vehicle throught he air is providing enough air flow to keep things cool and functional.

I would check the radiator fan fuse or fuses first. If those are OK I would try to run the fans with 12 volts and a ground that I supply just to see if the fan motor(s) actually run when powered. If the fan don't run when powered then the fans are bad and will need to be replaced. If the fans do run when you power them manually, then something is not allowing the power to activate, like a relay, control unit, or wiring.

It will take a little diagnostics, but it is not too difficult to chase it down.

Turn on your A/C, is at least (1) fan on? NO? You need to replace at least (1) fan, that is the AC fan. YES? Then at least you now you AC fan works.

Make sure you have enough coolant in your car. DON NOT OPEN RADIATOR WHEN HOT. The Coolant Switch will noever cut on if there is no coolant there to trigger it. You can find it where the thermostat housing is.

Next, get a 12V testlight and test the wiring going to the fans. BE CAREFUL NOT TO GET CUT MY A FANIF IT TURNS ON! If you have electricity, but the fan does not cut on you fan needs repacing.

Coolig fans dont run

the cooling fans are run by a relay it's located in the junction box. check this. there is also a thermoatic sensor located near the fans next to radiator. the fans should free spin when the engine is off this is a good indiacator that it's not the fan themselves. if the relay checks out(run engine and switch the fan relay with the a/c clutch relay when the engine reaches 180 degrees you will feel the upper radiator hose get hot the fans will turn on a short time later iof they don't it's the temp sensor near the radiator if they do it's a bad relay...please rate this thanks
