When your car battery goes dead overnight, and if your sure that the battery and alternator are both in good shape then what you may have is a parasitic draw, and it can cause the same result as leaving the headlights on: a dead battery in the morning. You will need a multimeter to trace the draw and to even be sure that is the problem. If you have 1 or 1 is available, get back to me here and i will be glad to help you through the process

What could be draining my battery alternator is new battery is new

if your alternator came with a built-in voltage regulator, then it could be defective. If you have an older car (80s or older) it could be a separate part and needs to be replaced as well. If you're doing the work, just take the alternator toe O'reilly's or Autozone and have them test it. Many times they are defective.
If both your alternator and battery are working fine then there's a short somewhere in the wiring draining your battery.

Battery wont stay charged

If the alternator is good and the battery is new, then something is draining the battery while it's parked. In the old days people left their headlights, radio or something on and this drained the battery. Now a days this is not as big a problem with 5 minute timers that turn off lights if you forget. I would take it back to whomever did the alternator work for an answer. How old is the battery? You can take it to see if it can't hold a charge any longer. In my experience, most batteries don't seem to hold a charge after about two years. Did anyone do some custom work in your car that requires electricity? It could be this extra stuff is draining the battery.

2005 chevy equinox changed battery and alternator and still drains battery the next day or two

First are you sure the alternator is charging the battery ?
If it is, someone will need to pull fuses and disconnect major circuits until you find the drain. It could be a simple relay, or a short to ground in the harness somewhere.

New battery drains.

I can't imagine how changing the belt would have any effect on the electrical system if the alternator is working.
The way you check for a drain is to disconnect the battery ground cable and use a test light to make the connection between the battery and ground. If there is something drawing power from the battery the light will glow.
Then you pull each fuse from the fuse boxes until the light goes out. You also disconnect the starter and alternator if necessary.

Have the charging system checked. Maybe the new alternator isn't charging. Is your battery light on when running? If you put a voltmeter across the battery terminals when engine is running, you will know if alternator is working or not. You first should have the battery charged up. Voltage should read at least 13.5 volts, engine idling. If you just get battery voltage, say 12.6 volts, alternator is not working:. Check all battery and alternator connections for a clean, tight connection. Battery cables and connections should be inspected. Check for any blown fuses, your truck may have fusible links- if any are bad, you need to replace them. They would be located close to the battery, as they serve as power distributors.
Good luck.

Am having grand cherokee limited edition 2003, 4.0 the problem is the batery keeps draining. I bought new batery but still drains.Always meet the batery dead. Please, help

If you have a loose fan/drive belt. That would cause the problem. Just tighten it up. Corroded conctions at the battery but you should have cleaned those when you bought the new battery. Have you had the Alternator checked? Perhaps loose or corroded connections at the alternator or a bad alternator. You can remove it and bring it in to a parts store. Many of them will run a check on your old one before selling you a new one. You could have left something on that drains the battery. A light somewhere or even a short causing a power drain.

When driving car it will all of a sudden start going dead. Battery will discharge have to recharge or boost off even with new battery it drains the charge driving about 3-4 miles is this a problem with...

It sounds like your alternator is defective and draining the battery.
Since the alternators function is to charge the battery, if it's not working you will be running off battery power. With a short in the alternator that would explain the sudden drain on the battery.

BUT before you buy anything have the alternator tested first. It could be something more simple like a bare wire grounding out against metal, which would cause the problem.

Simple things first, so test it before you buy a new one. A parts store will test it for free.

Even still I suspect the alternator. A new will cost $160 maybe more.

Battery keeps draining new battery and alternaltor

Sounds like an alternator. When it goes bad, your car is forced to run off of the battery , which wont last long depending on what all you have running .
The alternator keeps your battery charged after your car starts.
Try replacing the alternator and let me know if you have any more problems.
