The brake booster should located directly behind the brake master cylinder. if it is you need to remove the brake master cylinder, do not remove any brake lines, there will be a vacuum line going into the booster, either from the front or the side, it's easy to spot, it's fairly large compared to other lines on you car. under the dash where the brake pedal is, you will need to remove the brake rod form the pedal tiself, as it will most likel be a solid part of the brake booster itself from the factory, then unbolt the booster from the firewall, 4 mounting bolts usually, all 4 might be in the engine compartment or 2 inside the car, 2 in the engine compartment. Before you start go to Auto Zone and look at a replacement booster, it will help you see what you're going to do when you start on you repair.

I got a 99 dodge intrepid I changed the front brakes and calipers but the brake pedal doesn't go down any suggestions please

If it is hard to stop (brake doesn't go down). Check the vacuum line to the brake booster. Or the booster diaphragm is bad. The diaphragm is behind the master cylinder on the fire wall on the drivers side. Big, round and black.

My breaks on my 2001 dodge intrepid are hissing what could this be?

Hi Melissa, I'm glad to help. Intrepids were bad about the brake booster seal allowing a vacuum leak when the brakes are applied, If the brakes are real hard to push and its not stopping properly you'll need a new brake booster. However, if its only hissing but stopping properly and you can live with the noise its not affecting your brakes at this time. Hope this helps and have an awesome day Melissa.

Brake fluid getting into brake booster 1995 dodge neon

You need to overhaul or replace the master cylinder as it seems to be leaking out of the main shaft seal and into the booster, from there the fluid will be sucked into the engine.

Break system boster . the part thats connected to the peadle has seal that is broken. i need to know the name of the part and how to replace it.

The name is exactly that "Brake Booster" To remove it: Remove the master cylinder assembly and vacuum hoses from the booster. On the interior side of the firewall you will have to unbolt the booster and disconnect the linkage attaching the pedal to the piston in the booster.

The ignition switch is faulty if the gauges and dash lights will not come on, change the fuses first. Transmission fluid and filter change needed. Differential gear oil change also needed.
