Possibly, but its never good to get something like a wheel bearing from a junkyard, for safety reasons alone, I'd would just buy a NEW one.

Bad front wheel bearings

I have a 95 Prizm and replaced my bearings. the front wheel bearings are a real pain and requires a press.

loosen the half shaft nut. jack the car up and secure with jack stand, take the wheel off, remove the nut on the half shaft, disconnect the strut from the hub, disconnect the lower ball joint, disconnect the tie rod end (i use a pitman arm puller), you should now be able to remove the hub. unless you have a press and press skills take the hub and new bearing kit to a machine shop with a press and make sure they install the new seals and retaining clip on back side of hub. when installing hub with new bearing make sure you use the right torque specs..

alternate idea, pull the hubs from a junk yard and replace bearings on these, install on your vehicle it minimizes vehicle down time

final thoughts, use penetrating oil on all fasteners days before starting work and day of work. might be a good time to replace lower ball joins

Wheel bearing is making the car shake what could be wrong

Need more information. Are you sure it is the wheel bearing? I replaced a wheel bearing on 1996 Corolla after it broke. Had to take wheel apart and replace with used bearing (from junk yard). Not that difficult, but you might check your rims on the wheel first. Have a tire shop balance your tires to see if you have a bent wheel rim. I had a tire shake until I would hit 70 MPH and it would disappear. Needed to change out tire rim to eliminate shake. It can cause bad wear on your tire.

Changing front rotors

Capri rotor replacement is only done by a mechanically inclined person with tools. The rotors have the front bearings pressed in, so the rotor must be removed from the axle. Bearings must be pressed in, and preload must be adjusted for the new rotor. If you do not understand any of this then find a mechanic. Expect to pay at least $150 per rotor replacement.

An alternative is if you can find a junk yard Capri with decent rotors, then it can be installed onto your vehicle without the need for a mechanic to do bearing replacement. Keep in mind though that the junk yard Capri may have bad bearings...Good luck...Chris

Replaced right front wheel bearing on my 2003 ford explorer 4x4 and when i drive it it seems like it is rocking or shaking do you know what the problem might be I did buy the wheel bearing at a junk yard

Hello,
The problem could be a siezed C.V. joint on the front axle. If it doesn't flex as your driving the stiffness will be transmitted into the drivetrain. Hope this helps.

Noise in front end when going straight or turning right. Noise stops when you turn left.

i would check the right front wheel bearing . Jack the right side up and feel the tire pull back and forth and see if the tire feels loose if it does the wheel bearing is junk. only other thing check the cvc axel.

Front diferential is broken

That is hard to do, so are your sure?
It is about $100 at a junk yard, and takes about 3 hours to do.
But make sure it is not a bad brake caliper, wheel bearing, or CV joints instead.

How do I remove the wheel bearing on a 2000 Saturn SL1? I have removed everything except pulling the housing which holds the bearing.

I believe on these cars you have to replace the entire hub, not just the bearing. I had a problem with mine and I went to a junk yard and bought a used wheel with the hub still attached, fixed it right up.

Front wheel bearing

the bearing and hub have to be pressed in. if you can find a good used steering knuckle from the junk yard the bearing will already be in it then all you will have to do is bolt it on.that is the cheapest way to go.

Diagram of front hub assembly for 1994 mercury sable.

Best solution to your problem is going ot the junk yard asking them for a left front knuckle. They will charge you about the same price for all this stuff as the auto parts store will charge you for a wheel bearing. After you have this knuckle you will be able to take a few things off of it and be able to put it on with only remvoing like 3-5 bolts.
