10 year old truck I think your cheapest bet is to get another engine out of a junkyard. Or if you have more money get a rebuilt engine as I think you are going to spend that much fixing this one.

2001 GT Eclipse Spyder..cranked this morning, both drive belts broke, harmonic balancer came apart..replaced balancer, belts, now it won't fire. I did find a piece of one of the drive belts intertwined in the timing belt. Thing is absolutely not getting any fire.

How to change timing cover?

Yes, you need a harmonic balance puller, most bigger parts stores such as Advance will lend you the tool for no charge. Hope this helps ray

Harmonic balancer standing still while car is running

Are the belts completely still while running? If not the balancer might actually be spinning fine and just look still because it is spinning fast enough (a friend of mine came to me with the same thing). Looking at the 1990 harmonic balancer the only thing that would seem to cause that is if the bolt wasn't tight enough or somehow went bad, in which case only the bolt would spin. Or the alignment piece (a small metal bit on the back side) had the dual function of traction and broke (don't lose this bit if it's not broke). Or something more serious involving what the bolt threads into. By the way you will need a special tool to remove the harmonic balancer if you plan to do that.

If the Harmonizer is replaced, what else can go wrong from the Harmonizer being broke

I think you mean the harmonic balancer. Thats the pulley on the crankshaft the serpentine belt runs on.
I doubt anything else would be damaged as long as the crankshaft is ok other than the belt.

It just bolts onto the end of the crankshaft.

Broke the harmonic balancer bolt on my 1994 Dodge Intrepid, can the car drive with the bolt broken off about 1/2" deep? It seems snug.

the harmonic balancer is slightly pressed onto the crank shaft. It does require the bolt to hold it into its correct position. If you drive it with the bolt broken the pulley will eventually work its way loose from the crank shaft. This will cause damage to the crankshaft and will cause the accessory belts to come off as well.

What is the trick to removing the harmonic balancer on a stratus

Theres no trick. It has to be cocked or something from all the pulling. Try tapping it back on, use spraylube on the crank and try again. Good luck.
