Every 60,000 miles except cars certified for sale in California, California is 105,000, they have a more heavy duty belt.

When do you change timing belt on swift 2006

The belt replacement is usual to at 60000 miles or 100000Kilometers for the majority of cars, the belt is a chain no need replacing

rubber belt type where replacement is needed after this mileage is done.

Do not hazard with this and go over the limit if its not necessary as this can cost you new engine .The damage done after the belt snaps is often more than a second-hand engine.

Is the 2002 2.0l sportage motor an interferance motor

Yes , it is. This website makes the timing belts and most other belts and will tell you if your engine is an interference engine. Yours is and I had to replace the engine in one as the owner drove it til the belt stripped and the valves were buried in the pistons, so make sure you change it at the mileage the owners manual calls for.

Just quit while driving and now won't start

U will need to check the fuel pressure, check the cam blet for breaking and run the electronic engine control codes, the cam belt should have been replaced at 60,000 miles, they do break after that mileage, are u over the mileage without the belt being changed?

hi well this does sound strange, i myself have not heard of a modern belt needing to be adjusted, as they have automatic adjusting pulleys, which as you say either work or don't, i know some vehicles have an alignment on the tensioner pulley, but that shouldn't have an effect on the actual tension of the belt, i might be barking up the wrong tree here, i know a long time back, fords used to have a tensioner that could be tightened as the belt stretched, to this was only on the serpentine belt and not the timing belt, i think they are opinion..hope this helps

on any auto about 50,000 miles is average it's cheaper to replace the belt then an engine. when the belt breaks most engines will bend the valves and toyotas are good for that

What mileage should I replace timing belt?

Most of the time is considerable to replace the timing belt every 60000 miles, also the tensioners and the seals too. If the water pump is in there too expend a few extra bucks and replace it too.
