Question about 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee
Just had the same problem. check the black wire in the rubber boot from the body to the door on the drivers side. i just soldered my back together and it works just fine.

You possibly have a broken or shorted wire in the drivers door jamb inside the rubber boot that runs between the door and the body.
