Removing and replacing an engine from a Silverado is not easily answered in one answer, but.....

1. Disconnect every electric component to the engine, starting with the battery.
2. Disconnect the cooling system, inlet, outlet, and any other cooling attachments to the engine.
3. Disconnect any accessories that connect to the engine, and drain the oil.
4. Disconnect the Exhaust system.
5. Disconnect the Fuel lines, oil lines, throttle cable, and any other lines that may be connected to the engine.
6. Hook up the Cherry picker (engine hoist), to the engine relieving the load from the transmission and the motor mounts.
7. Loosen the motor mounts all the way around, leaving one hanging on for safety.
8. Disconnect the engine from the Transmission.
9. Rock the engine back and forth, while lifting the cherry picker up.
10. Engine should be out of the car at this point.

To install a new engine, you are going to need to remember where everything went, and which bolts go where, from your engine removal.

1. Reverse every step above to install new engine.
2. Remember to check out every thing while you have the engine out. (Good opportunity:)
3. Have all of the lines, hoses, plugs, and cables out of the way and taped off for organization.
4. Put the new engine in the engine bay, and push it back into the Transmission. Turn the wheels of the truck to rotate the output shaft if the engine will not go all of the way in.
5. Tighten up the Transmission bolts, and the motor mounts.
6. Hook up the electrical, oiling, cooling, AC, throttle, etc.
7. Double check everything for efficiency.
8. Fill the fluids, cooling, oil, etc.
9. firing order and correct plug placement, and you should be ready to try to fire it up.
10. Timing, and other procedures can be carried out to tune the car.

Good luck :)

Legally, you can not put an older motor into a newer vehicle due to emissions laws. You can always put a newer engine (usually manufactured to meet newer emissions specs) into an older vehicle, but not vice-versa. There's issues with the computer and vin # when you change from one factory engine to a different type as well.

Sounds like the motor inside player is shot. You will have to pull out player, remove top cover, remove 2 screws holding cradele and remove your cd. Than either install new player or have a new motor put in yours.
