There is no best oil without knowing where and how you drive your car. However, assuming your bug is not diesel, a good choice would be Castrol Syntec 0w-30. It's a pure synthetic oil, unlike many of the hybrid mineral/synthetic blends, and it should give you engine awesome protection at startup and longer oil change intervals. Just make sure it's MADE IN GERMANY!!! Other Castrol Syntecs are not made in Germany, and they are not as good. Castrol works with VW for their oil improvements, so it's a great fit. It's not going to be the cheapest, but it's probably going to be the best overall. Another great alternative is Amsoil 10w-30 full synthetic, and you can go up to 25K between oil changes with that one. Need to find a distributer to purchace from their website.

For VW gasoline or diesel engines it is recommended to use 5w-30 SYNTHETIC, but needs to meet the VW standard 50200-50500 (most if not all Mobile 1 oils do).

TICKING NOISES COMING FROM LIFTERS

You sure it is coming from the lifters ? The injectors make the same kind of noise. But you can try changing the oil more often every three thousand miles is what is recommended instead of the five thousand like some people tell you. I have a 1998 dodge 5.2 with 199584 miles on it no problems changed oil every three thousand miles.

Bought certified BMX 335i convertible and after only 3000 miles of driving the low oil light is on. Is this normal oil consumption or is there a problem?

Though I am not familiar with the 2007 model, on the e46s, I know that the low oil light comes on when you are down only about 1/2 quart. Does your model have a dip stick?
A half quart in 3000 miles is not cause for concern. Most of them burn a bit less than that, at least during the first 200k miles, but some burn more. It depends to some extent what kind of oil you are using. It will burn more Mobile1 than it will Castrol Syntec, for example.
I have an '04 330 that uses about a half quart in 7k miles between oil changes, and an '04 325 that goes through a quart every thousand miles. I am only a little concerned about the 325. I would not be at all concerned about a half quart in 3k miles.

On volvo v40 2000 wat is the best oil change

If you're asking what the mileage should be between oil changes don't go by what the owner's manual tells you, it's best to change the oil and filter at least every 3 to 4 thousand miles miles as it's a cheap insurance to make your engine last longer with minimal sludge build up in the engine.

Go to your local auto parts store and ask them what viscosity you should have. Then get synthetic. It is far superior to regular oil and will help your engine last longer

I want to know when to do the serving of my Toyota Camry 1998. When to change the oil

Most import vehicle manufactures recommend changing oil at 5-7 thousand miles. When you have a wide range of temp as in the Northern United States, you need to have the oil changed 3-5 thousand miles. The reason is that the oil collects condensation after it has been up to operating temps, and shut off. There is some test that are being checked as to if the hot and humid temps have the same effect as in the winter months. I believe, it should be changed every 3 months and 3 thousand miles, which ever occurs first. I have used Synthetic oil in all of my vehicles, both cars and SUV's and change them at 5,000 miles. One of my Explorer's has passed 500,000 miles and the other one has 268,000. My cars also have Syn oil, is over 232,000 and no Mechanical problems in any of them. I hope this helps you with your question. Craig

How often do it need an tune up,oil change engine coolant and brakes changed?wen to check the oil

this depends on how you drive and how many miles you have on your car and what type oil you are using, on a 1994 you should do a tune up every 30 to 40 thousand miles. You need to do a engine clean then change oil. if you use a good quality oil you can go every 3 to 5 thousand miles on changing oil. You need to change the oil in the drive train after 30 thousand miles and the transmission oil and filter should be changed every 30 thousand miles. Also the Thermostat and antifreeze should be changed every two years to make sure the anti freeze is still lubricating the water pump. Failure to change antifreeze has burt up more engines than I can recall. Check oil in the morning when cold. Check the transmission oil when hot and in park. If you want more detailed information post here.

Servicing cars

You should change your oil & filter every 3 to 5 thousand miles. The more frequently you change the oil, the more life you will get out of the engine. Rotate the tires every other oil change. Replace the air filter every 15 thousand miles. Flush the cooling system and flush the transmission (automatic) every 30 thousand. Change the iridium plugs every 90 thousand. There is no timing belt to worry about, that veh has a timing CHAIN. That is basically it.
