2000 Volkswagen Golf has trouble starting, battery and alternator have been replaced. The problem does not seem to be the starter or fuel. Any ideas?

The alternator cable connects to the upper post on the starter solenoid; the same post as the positive battery terminal.

its the Battery either it needs replaced all together or your terminals are not tight enough. Best way to check that for sure is try turning on your interior light if it is very dim or not on at all REPLACE

Hi, engine on my golf is starting always on the second time? what can be the problem? thanks

this is not uncommon in any car, it just means that the car is getting older. it can be fixed by replacing the battery (if battery is old) or by reconditioning the starter, although it would not seem to be the proplem on such a new car

Probably the starter needs to be replaced. If it was the battery, you would have more problems cold than hot.
