Where is the cooling fan temp switch on a 2001 le sabre buick 3.8L
They are almost always located on the bottom tank of the engine's radiator.
They can have one or two wires (some are grounded to the tank and require only one) and are generally cylindrical with a hex section near the mounting surface to installation and removal.
You will need to catch the coolant when removing it and don't forget, it's a pretty large quantity of liquids.
When I have been in doubt whether one was defective or not, I have attached leads to monitor continuity and heated them in a container on the stove with a candy thermometer in the same water to watch the temperature rise. If OK, they should contact at some value below 212 degrees F.
