My 1991 Ford f-350 truck has a new engine which after it warms up will show the "check engine" light and idle at about 300 rpm too high in both drive and park. I suspect that a sensor is going out but not...

You will need to get the procedure to check the engine computer for trouble codes. You can use the check engine light to find the codes by jumpering the test plug in the engine compartment.
Look online for "retrieve trouble codes" for your year of truck. Then look for the test procedures for the codes you get.

Where is the transmission warning light in the display

In most vehicle, Transmission warning light incorporated in Check Engine light (ie, when you pull check engine light codes, transmission trouble code will be among it, if there were any), other case, its in your PRNDL indicator light (ie. PRNDL light will blink when transmission has problem), and in another case, you need to have a special scaner that capable of pulling transmission trouble code. I hope it helps :)

I have a 95 buick le saber 3.8 ltr. It back fires when running. But when check engine light is on it wont back fire. It does sound louder with check engine light on. Changed coils. I need help trying to...

You need to scan the computer for trouble codes. If the light was on, there must be codes set. On a '95 Buick, it would be OBD-1, On Board Diagnostics-first generation ('96 and later is all OBD-2).
The diagnostic connectors are different for OBD1 and OBD2, but in '94 and '95, GM was on some models using a "hybrid" diagnostic link connector. You will just have to find the right diagnostic connector to get your codes. The guys at autozone or a national parts store who do engine scans for free may help you figure it out. If it is a straight forward OBD 1 connector, a cheap code reader could scan for trouble codes. For the OBD1, you can also use a jumper wire between terminals
A & B of the diagnostic link connector. Turn key to on, and two digit codes will begin to flash on the check engine light. Code 12, for instance, would be a flash, pause, two short flashes, and longer pause before the next code appears. Code 12 by the way, just means that the computer is in diagnostic mode-after that any set codes will appear or be flashed. Code 55 may also be flashed-this code means the end of codes that are set.

I have a 2002 Park avenue at 45,000 miles and the check engine soon light come on what needs to be done at this time

Your best option is to at least find out why the light is on. Contact your local parts store. Many times they will scan the computer and retrieve trouble codes for free. DO NOT BUY ANYTHING THEY RECOMMEND! Post the code and we'll try to point you in the right direction.

The other option is to bring the vehicle into a shop, either independent or a dealer will be able to figure this out. There is normaly a diagnostic fee that is charges. This fee will cover the cost of retrieving the trouble codes and then diagnosing the true cause of the trouble code.

I have a 2003 Mercury Mountaineer V6 AWD. Check Engine Light came on - brought it to the dealer and they said the code was to replace the solenoid. Had that replaced and after driving it away, light came...

Replace what solenoid specifically? What was the trouble code? Most parts stores will pull OBD-2 codes for you for free and give you a brief description of what they mean. I would try that then come back here.

Check engine light came on and transmisson has leak how do i figure out whats wrong with the motor wit the beeps when you turn the igntion to on ?

The check Engine Light may have activated because of the Transmission fault. The best and easiest way to identify the fault code is to take the vehicle to Auto Zone or another Auto parts store that offers to read trouble codes for free.

180,000 miles & check engine light is on. Already had vehicle checked.

the check engine light comes on whenever one or more of about 200 faults occur in the electronic engine or emmision controls, the only way to determine which system is causeing the problem is to have the system computer tested for the trouble code(s) that is stored when the light is turned on by the computer, which is known as the PCM

Need to pull and reed trouble codes for a 1989 honda

there is a jumper wire on the passenger side kick panel, short this wire with a paper clip and turn your ignition to run, the CEL check engine light will flash the number of the trouble code,
long flashes = 10's
short flashes = 1's
so a code read like this
would be 35
there will be short pauses between flashes and a long pause between separate codes,
hope this helps
