It sounds like it may be a spark problem. I would look at the spark plugs and wires if they have not been done within the last year. If you replace those and the problem is still going on you may have to look at your coil/distributor.

your car has developed a thing called a misfire, this is where one or more cylinders is not firing properly....now this could be caused by a number of things, such as bad plugs, leads, dissy cap, right through to blown head gasket, and engine problems.........have you had the car serviced recently, if so, take it back and let them know

i hope this helps

Trans mount?

The moun sounds like it is probably bad. But you are addressing SHAKING. Most motors don't SHAKE. It may have a miss to it or not be running smoothly. It may need a tune up or have bad gas. Just remember this car is 12 years old and may need some simple TLC.

At 40 mph the car starts to shake. It last to 5o

I have this same car with exactly the same problem. Begins shaking at 40mph and stops shaking as soon as you let off the gas, but then begins again as soon as you press on the gas and smooths out as you get over 50. And the shaking is not felt through the steering wheel. Solution: Replace the transmission mounts. There are two of them, one on each side mounted on the frame right next to the shock strut. There is also a front and rear engine mount, but I replaced the two as described and shaking is gone.

2000 Chevy Lumina shakes forward and backwards when its stopped

Seems to me the transmission is locking up. Have the tranny oil replaced by a reputable workshop or good friend :-) just remember to replace the filter, located inside the tranny. For this the tranny sump plate need to be removed, and the work area must be very clean.

2002 4cl vue service engine soon light on

I have the exact same problem it took awhile before I figured it out. This car requires the medium octane gasoline .The 87 octane gas causes the engine to run on the lean side and triggers the "service engine soon light".By putting in a higher octane gas (middle range 92 octane) the light won't come on.Or you can get your service mechanic to set a richer gas mix for your car, however you'll lose about 2-3 mpg .

94 grand am Head Gasket?

Check ur spark plugs for wetness, if u have water in ur cylinders, you have a gasket problem. 94-95 grand am had a problem with intake gaskets, but my grand am also had a manufacture error on the head gasket too. The dragged the heads over it putting the heads back on and smashed the rings..
