What it sounds like is a starter issue. When the gears inside the housing bind up,it causes that clicking sound.Remove the starter and have it tested.

Have you checked the key switch and the neutral safety switch for power ? Its possible jumping the battery was just a coincidence.
There is also a possibility the starter is not good even tho you have replaced it.

might be a burned spot on the starter contacts where the brushes power the motor.
tap the starter to see if problem goes away.
sometimes you can clean the contacts but that is a temporary fix.

2001 santa fe starting problem

If you have no issues with your battery cables, I would say it is a starter solenoid that is the problem. As long as it clicks, the start circuit from the ignition switch to the starter is working, and the starter motor tests good, so likely the solenoid is the problem. Is the electrical wire on the solenoid tight?

Problems starting my van. new battery but one quiet click and it all goes dead

When the van was parked, was it in an area where mice or other rodents could get to it? If so, check for chewed wires near top of engine compartment and under van near starter.

the clicking you hear is the starter solenoid due to bad electrical connection, low battery charge, bad battery cable or bad starter solenoid.

It sounds like you either need new starter brushes or a new starter. If you turn the key and the starter just clicks, try tapping gently on the starter with a metal bar. If the starter then turns over you should take it out and replace the brushes or put in a new or rebuilt starter. When you have to start tapping on the starter you may only have a few starts left.

When i try to start my car sometimes it will just click continously eventually it does start but idk what is causing this clicking?

This type of problem is generally associated with a loose or dirty battery cable connection.
It can also be caused by an internal battery problem, starter issue or battery cable failure. Your best bet is to have the starter, battery and charging system checked. You can take your vehicle to your local Auto Zone or Advance Auto and ask them to run the test for you, they will do the test free of charge for you.
Good luck.

1994 Dodge Intrepid clicks before starting

Weak battery or flaky starter solenoid. Check the condition of the wires betwixt the battery and the starter solenoid first. Also check the ground wire(s).

Sounds like the neutral safety switch is faulty. Slamming the shifter into Park has temporarily solved the condition for some, but the switch may have to be replaced.
