Question about 1998 Dodge Caravan

My left brake light is out. i have replaced the bulb, but it still doesn't work. does it have a separate fuse from the right one, or do i need to check the ground to make sure it is still grounded? if so, which wire in the wiring harness is the ground wire?

According to the wiring diagram I have, it is the black wire......the white with a tan trace is the brake light wire from the stop switch....if the right one is working...i would be checking ground, due to water entry....or possibly poor trailer wiring if this is connected.......

Brake light fuse for a 2003 Lincoln LS

The left and right tail and brake light assemblies have separate fuses. The left side is a 5A fuse #3 in the underhood fuse box. Check that out first

I don't have a owner's manual to find out what fuse to change for passenger brake light. Turn signal works but brake light doesn't

Most vehicles do not have separate circuits for the left and right brake light. They will run down the chassis with one wire and split off at the rear of the vehicle. I would think that if you have one brake light and not the other you have a bulb or bulb socket issue, not a fuse.

1 brake light doesn't work... good bulb and fuse

Lights are usually on a dual circuit! Left and right have separate fuses, check all fuses or check the fuse diagram on fuse cover or manual to identify correct fuse!

If you have any extra fuses, try replacing the ones for the head lights and tail lights. Make sure the fuses you replace are the same color as the ones you replace them with, that way the voltages are the same. Another issue is that a flasher could be going out.

My left brake lamp wont work and i dont know where the fuse is for it

If the other brake light works, it is not a fuse problem,
common sense

If a fuse ever does blow, you have to find out why

Replace a blown fuse & it will blow again 9 out of 10 times

Replace the lamp if it is burnt out.

The problem is the socket. Remove the bulb and bend the tabs in the socket so they make contact with the bulb. If this doesn't work you will have to replace the socket. A wire is broke and they usually break at or in the plug.

Im looking for the fuse for the right tail light

You do not have a separate fuse for each side, if the left side works, replace the bulb in the right side that isn't working.

I just bought NEW bulb for brake light

There aren't separate fuses for the left and right brake lights. So if one side is working and the other isn't you can rule out a fuse. Was the bulb socket corroded at all? Check for power and grounds at the socket by back probing the wires (of course, while having the brakes applied). If you have a good power and ground at the wires, the problem lies in the socket assembly. Should be available from the dealer for about $30 or so. It's also not out of the question to have a bad bulb out of the box. It's rare but just to rule it out, try it in the socket that works.

Good luck.
