SOURCE: how to replace a water pump on a 1997 chevy cavalier

the best thing to help would be a 'Haynes repair manual', avialable at your local auto parts store. but replacing a water can be difficult if your not particularly mechanically inclined, because it often requires the removal of several other componets as well as flushing the cooling system

SOURCE: 1996 Chevrolet Cavalier, 2.2 Water Pump. Can't remove pully.

USUALLY I LOOSEN ALL OF THE BOLTS BEFORE I TAKE THE BELT OFF TO HELP KEEP THE PULLEY FROM TURNING... USE A LONG SCREWDRIVER OR PRYBAR .. PUT IT BETWEEN THE TWO OTHER BOLTS AND LOOSEN THE 3RD. CONTINUE TILL ALL ARE LOOSE.. IF YOU HAVE ALREADY REMOVED 2 OF 3 BOLTS THEN RE INSTALL THE OTHER 2 A FEW THREADS SO YOU CAN PUT THE SCREWDRIVER IN BETWEEN THEM TO STOP THE PULLEY FROM TURNING.

SOURCE: how to replace lug nut studs 2002 chevrolet cavalier

The problem I ran across in changing a lug stud on my son's 2001 Cavalier was that the new stud was too long to put through the empty hole in the hub in which it belonged. It is possible, although somewhat difficult, to find an undersized stud that will work. The regular stud is 41.5 mm long (approx. 1 5/8 inches). The undersized stud is 34.5 mm long (approx. 1 3/8 inches). I could not find what I needed so I took a standard 41.5 mm stud and ground off 7 mm which is approx. 1/4 inch. I screwed the lug nut all the way up on the stud before grinding and I tapered the end of the bolt slightly after reaching desired length. The lug nut was then removed which took care of any damaged threads due to the grinding. The newly shortened stud is still long enough to adequately hold the wheel on. The only other solution I know of when NOT shortening the stud is to pull the wheel hub. That isn't very much fun.

I can not find where the oil dip stick is located on my 2002 cavalier 4 cyl

I\'ll give you the benefit of the doubt and that you\'ve not had the car long, or depended on others to provide basic maintenance. First, go to local auto parts store (where you\'ll be buying any oil, oil filters etc) and get the Chilton repair manual for this car. You don\'t need a college degree to understand the instructions and pictures.

Where is the oil dip stick located on 2002 cavalier 4 cyl

If you can't see separate oil dipstick (usually has an yellow plastic handle), then your oil level dipstick is connected to oil filler cap. When you unscrew the oil cap you'll be able to see the dipstick and level meter.

Need diagram of engine for 2002 cavalier z24

Its the upper radiator hose should be located topside beside the engine oil dipstick, any smaller hoses you have running into the radiator are heater hoses, the lower radiator hose is where coolant enters from radiator into engine and is pumped up with water pump thru water jackets in engine and eventually returns thru the upper radiator hose which is most prone to damage due to splitting and cracking, I hope this helped.
