Question about 1993 Subaru Legacy

1 Answer

Hi, Unsure if it is the driver side mirror but my 2010 Outback drives me insane when driving and moreso on a windy day. The noise sounds like a whisltling kettle. I had asked the dealer to investigate this and they advised me, when next driving, to place tape around the edge of windscreen and mirror, then peal it of as required. I did ask if they they could test this in their work shop with an air compressor hose. They didnt seam interested in my proposal. Any advise.

Have you had any problems with any leaks? It sounds to me like the seal on the windshield is bad. Just the right size hole in the seal will cause that whistling noise. It actually happened to my car. They can test it with a smoke test around the seals.Since your vehicle is still new it will be under warranty. They have to fix it or you can have a shop fix it with a reimbursement from the dealership. If you continue to have problems that are not able to be fixed, you got a lemon. Demand a fix or a new car.

I have a noise in the driver door in my 207. when i drive on hard surface road. thank for your help.

More than likely that is EXACTLY what it is, something has fallen into the Hollow of the Door and you NEED to found out what is it. Since it has started and not a new Car with a NEW Issue, you need to not only discover what is causing it but also what Broke inside the door.. Prolonged not finding out what it is could cause your window to break, the Lock/Handle to be inop and a few other things... Clip not a big deal, Nut or Bolt, moreso

2003 subaru outback mirror glass replacement

You need some bathtub silicone sealer and some black electrical tape and a couple of small wooden blocks. Carefully break out the cracked mirror. WEAR gloves and glasses when you do this and have a bucket to catch the falling glass. Make sure the mirror back is clean and put a bead of silicone around the back of the new mirror. Keep it about 1/4 inch from the edge and some dabs in the center portion. Place the mirror on the back and tape one edge down using a wooden block for a spacer. Then do the other side. Make the tape snug so it squashes the silicone and leave the mirror alone for 24 hours. After that take the tape and blocks off and you are good to go. Hope this helps.

That noise sounds to me like a Ball Joint problem. I would check to see if you have fittings to grease the front suspention.
