SOURCE: 2004 Nissan Quest front control arm bushing replacement.

You can get just the bushings at autozone, checker, napa auto part stores for about $30.00 to $35.00. You can replace them yourself or take the vehicle to the shop.

SOURCE: Lower Control Arm Bushing replacement

Hi,
I just did this job on my 98 regal, and I own the service manuals also. The lower control arm bushing that usually goes, is the front one. The rear one doesn't usually go, it is horizontally mounted. The front one for some reason is vertical. The control arm must be removed, and put in a vise. The front bushings outer metal sleeve, must be driven out with a chisel. It comes out easily. The new bushing can be tapped in with a hammer. Hope this helps!

SOURCE: control arm bushings

Special tools are required. Definitely not for the novice. An alignment will be needed after the required work is performed

You need to replace the sway bar end links also, they get very noisy but appear fine when they are on the car. Cheap on Ebay.e9253ba.jpg

SOURCE: Won't Start

The fuel pump is located at the fuel tank and the plugs are located in the top of the engine block.  you will see four identical wires going into the top of the block.  If you pull those out carefully you will see the spark plugs inside.  Let me know if you have any other questions.  Thanks for an honest rating and for using FixYa!

Can up country shocks be used on a non-up country suspension. Worried about the travel and collapsed measurements. Not enough travel or too little?

doubtful the shocks would be the source of any creaking/squeaks. Most creaking and squeak noises are usually a result of worn/dry bushings. I would inspect all swaybar/control arm bushings for dryness and deteriation. Spraying wd40 on all rubber bushings in the rear may cause the noise to subside for a while until you are able to isolate the exactr source

Ive got a knocking noise comin from the rear passenger side of my car

It is likely that you have worn rubber bushing in one or more of the suspension control arms, check them all. Also check for loose suspension bolts on all control arms. Have you checked the free play of the wheel?

I have a 2003 Saturn ION with a lower control arm problem. I would like to know how to replace the bushings in the arm, how many bushings are there and is it necessary to replace both sides.

You always do both side of anything

Wheel bearings,ball joints,control arm
bushings,calipers,etc,never just one side

You have to remove the arms to work on them

I would suggest an alignment only repair shop,
not a franchise or chain do it all place.
