Question about 2004 Kia Sorento
Could be a falling cam sensor or O2 sensor, O2 sensors don't like being cold as it takes longer to heat up and ecu reads it as a fault. cam sensor these fail more when they get hot. dirty MAF/MAP sensor can also affect the engine.

On my wife's car the mechanic said it was gas cap. (NOT!!) I cleared with an OBD reader and the code suggested a leak in the evatorator system. I found a steel tube that was routed over the weld flange of the gas tank. It went from the front of the car, down the drivers side, over the weld joing of the gas tank and into a charcoal evaporator filter on the passengers side near the rear wheel. The tube crossing over the gas tank crumbled when I touched it. I replaced it with a short piece of reinforced neoprene hose (to cross over the gas tank) and a couple of hose clamps. Cost of parts was about $5.00. Havn't seen Check Engine since. Good luck

I was factory trained to work on these cars, the problems i found for this symptom where this, a cracked air intake rubber flex hose, crack is on bottom and opens up when u accelerate, next is a defective MAF, which is a Mass Airflow sensor, neither of these two problems will set a code.
