Question about Buick Rendezvous

1 Answer

02 Buick Rendezvous, fuel pump fuse keeps blowing, but only after the ignition has been turned on and off a few times in a short period of time. (example - tonight blew after 7 stops where the vehicle was turned on and off within a 2 hour period). If we drive it to work and back (approx 10 km) and only turn the vehicle on to get there and again to get home, it doesn't happen. It always blows when we are moving, and starts back up as soon as the #1 fuse is replaced. This has happened about 6 times in the last 8 weeks. Replaced the o2 sensor (error), didn't help. Could it be a short although had the wiring checked and none is visible? Any ideas?

Unplug the fuel pump, and then with a new fuse, cycle the key on and off multiple times. If the fuse doesn't blow, you might have a failing fuel pump.

Keep blowing Fuel pump fuse 95 Buick Park Avenue

You may have a short in wiring to fuel pump. Try this! remove the wires from fuel pump, then turn key to start the car briefly. If the fuse does not blow, its likely the fuel pump is drawing to much current and blowing the fuse. God-Bless!

Pull the electrical connector to the visors out of the headliner and disconnect it from both visors, see if the short goes away.

Eng. controller Fuse keeps blowing when I turn the ignition on to start my car

Have you checked your wiring to starter? It sounds like the power wire going to starter has loosened up.That would cause fuse to blow and also the way you described that the car died. Or even check to see that the red wire going to starter hasn't gotten dinged or melted by the exhaust. Anything that would cause it to short out.

I keep blowing fuses from my fuel pump every time I turn the ignition on what could be the problem. Its a 1994 s-10 Blazer with vortec 4.3

OK, the fuel pump could be shorted out, or the wires to the fuel pump could be shorted causing the fuse to blow every time you turn the ignition on.
