It sounds like your starter has stopped working. I could be a bad fuse able link but this is usually a problem on older vehicles. If you turn the key to start and you hear absolutely nothing then odds are its the starter. If you take it out yourself, you can have it tested at a local parts store before you drop the cash to buy another. I hope this helps!

My 2000 saturn sl wont start. it has power everything lights up. But nothing when I turn key. Happen last week and started right up a day later. happened again last night and nothing again this...

There should be a small black wire going from the battery to the starter motor. It sounds as though it has come loose.
Check it and re connect it.
I hope this works.
Good look

Dash lights up when key is on go to start it and does not start

Connection at battery is loose. Happens all the time. those terminals that bolt to pos and neg shouldn't move will all your might trying to turn it with your hand. If they do then that's the problem.

My 2002 Grand Am will not start, when ignition is turned on nothing happens with the starter, not even a sound from the starter, everything else works. I took off the starter and had it checked and it...

I have a 2002 Grand Am also. I had this same problem twice. The first time it happened, the battery was still working but was not strong enough to crank the car or make any noise under the hood at all. All electrical stuff worked though (lights, radio, etc). So i bought a new battery and everything was back to normal.

The 2nd time this happened, the passlock system was shot (the passlock system is a type of security device the car has installed in it.) When i inserted the key, everything worked, but nothing coming from the engine. I had to take the car to a dealership and get it replaced for around $400. If you look online you can find other ways to avoid the dealership and fix it yourself, but that could result in making something else not work as well.

Hope this helps in some way.

Check the connections at the battery. Be sure they're clean and tight.

Car won't start

I'd probably start with cleaning my connections at battery, & making sure my battery has a full charge. If not cured, maybe a new battery is required. If it will start with a jump, try running it for a couple of minutes with boosters on, and if all appears o.k. , change your battery.
