Question about 1992 Honda Accord

Battery light comes on perodically recently replaced altenator went away for two months now its coming on then going off.

While the engine off, the battery terminals will read at least 12.6Volts. If less replace the battery. While the engine is running the battery terminals will read 14 volts. If less then troubleshoot the charging system. Hope this will help.

The altenator may have went bad again test the altenator and battery again to see that you are in fact charging if not replace and get part free if under warranty good luck hope you get it figured out

Battery light came on my 2004 saturn vue. We replaced the battery because it is six years old. light is still on and no air conditioning


WHEN THE BATTERY LITE COMES ON THE DASH IT IS TELLING YOU THE VOLTAGE FROM THE ALTERNATOR IS WORKING, TO CHECK THE ALTERNATOR WITH A VOLT METER ON DC WITH THE ENGINE RUNNING YOU SHOULD GET A READING OF 13.5 TO 14.5 VOLT WHEN YOU TEST THE BATTERY TERMINALS IF THE VOLTAGE IS LOWER THEN 13.5 VO0LTS YOU ALTERNATOR IS BAD

Noticed a noise coming from ac unit belt. Pulley would not spin unless ac was on. Today after turning off car, tried to start again and it would not engage starter. Had battery power and even tried jumping...


the a/c belt or your a/c should'nt lock your motor as not to start or 'turn over' yout altenator may have went bad, or the battery may have went bad. the only way to know for sure is to have them tested. autozone or an advance auto parts checks both for free. suggest you remove the battery and take it to your choice of the 2 if the battery checks 'good' install it and drive the car to the nearest of the 2 and have the altenator checked for free. either one will not replace the altenator,but at least you will know what's bad. if it turns out to be the altenator, you can drive it with bad altenator w/lights off for about 10 miles.call your mechanic and he or she may be able to meet you at auto parts store and do the replacement there as i do myself. thank you for choosing fixya.com and i look forward to assisting you in the future!

Just got new battery but the batt. light is on.I also got the alternator tested and it was good


Check all connections and especially the ground connections...there should be two ground locations one at the engine block and one at the body

I have replaced my starter altenator fuel pump air conditioning compessor and a battery in my 2001 ford toruas in the past 7 months. What is making these parts go out in my car plus now my engine light is...


It is 9 years old!!
Why do you find that unusual?
That only odd part,is that they all went in the last 7 months,it happens.
Now MIL Lamps as yours is called or Check Light, if you call it that,have been on vehicles now for 31 years,now the 2011's are coming out.
So why would that be a supprise? You surely know what do now.
Have the vehicle scanned for codes, and then have a repair shop diagnose the malfunction you have. Don't continue to drive it that way.

Check if you drop oil on the alternator on this model because it falls and oil will damage the alternator verificata it first

try gettig a new starter motor as they can drag doen and flatten the whole system
