SOURCE: 2004 Chevrolet Silverado Heater/AC Blower on without Ignition ON

there is no relay for the heater fan it's a 15 amp fuse and is on the accessories circuit. the reostat is responsible for all 3 speeds .with the key off there should be no voltage to the blower motor whether the fans speed fan switch is on or off. the fuse will be located in the fuse paneleither on the drivers left side in the dash or underneath the dash in the fuse block. you have a short in the harness that is under the dash and most likely it's a bad plug on the harness. your going to have to do some searching but that's where the problem short is... please rate

SOURCE: 1992 cadillac deville - hvac blower motor does not shut off.

replace the relay , when a relay sticks like that , a good test is to slap it with something like the handle of a screw driver , see if it un-sticks , its not a fix , just a test . cheers'

Front blower motor quit working replaced ignition switch, control module, resister, and blower motor but still doesnt work fuses are all good where do i look next

normally it is the resistor,( relay) then resistor module then motor.
did you test the relay(I believe located under hood, relay/fuse center), If OK check plugs and wires for melting, damage and good connection, grounds should also be checked. Use a volt ohm meter to see if you are getting any power ti motor, etc.

GMC 2004 Envoy blows heat even with blower off ... Why ?

The relay in your blower motor is stuck on, there is a TSB for this issue. Replace the blower motor resistor and you'll be back in business.
How does the resistor get power if the fuse is pulled?
Replacing the resistor will cure both problems. TSB is a technical service bullitin seen below

Replaced resistor yesterday, all good today blower ran and then stopped, got back in van blower again ran but stopped after a few minutes

I would suspect the motor is defective, it may have burned out the new resistor. as well. Tap the motor with a hammer handle to jar it, if it starts it is defective for sure.

1996 chevy tahoe 4 w d 5.7l. recently replaced fan speed switch, resisitor and blower motor. worked fine for a few days and now nothing. all fuses are good. replaced resistor relay today. all ground...

Take a good look at all the connectors, especially at the blower motor switch and speed resistor. I find many of these connectors will be slightly deformed or melted from overheating and will not work even when plugged into a new switch or resistor...or may work for a bit then quit. If you find a bad connector the best thing to do is to replace the connector with a new one [they have to be spliced in] . Hope this helps and good luck!

I have a 2003 Chevy Tahoe . The heater and a/c fan only works on the highest speed #5. How do you repair this problem?

Check the blower motor resistor. It is on the passengers side by the blower motor under the dash. The resistor is connected to the blower motor and controls the blower speeds. They are known for going bad. Also check the connectors because they get hot and will melt.If they are melted then you will have to replace the connectors. You can get these from the dealership.Replace the blower motor resistor too.Hope this helps.Good luck.

2003 Chevy Tahoe, blower keeps running after shut off draining my battery

well it sounds to me as if you have a bad blower resistor allowing the continuous flow to the motor. or else you have a faulty relay there and its staying applied not releasing..or else you have a bad blower motor

Blower ran on high on my 2003 dakota for a few weeks now. While using it today it stopped blowing on high also. Could it be the relay? Thanks JTF

there is usually a resistor / relay mounted in the heater box that controls blower speed - should be very close to the blower motor. I have seen these fail on alot of GM products with those same symptoms

CHECK THE CONNECTOR TO THE BLOWER RESISTOR. IT USUALLY BURNS TO THE RESISTOR. YOU WILL NEED TO REPLACE THE RESISTOR AND THE CONNECTOR.
