Question about 1999 GMC Sonoma

1 Answer

I own a '99 GMC Sonoma (from new); everything works fine. One moring I noticed the clock said 3:30 when it was actually 7:30. More importantly, my fuel guage quit working. It stays on "Full" for about 150 miles, moves a little but never past the 1/2 way mark. What should I test or replace? Thanks, Jim

1995 GMC Sonoma - blower motor works intermittently. Switch works fine. When switched to high, it might take a few minutes for blower to actually come on.

There is a relay under the dash on the passenger side that operates the fan. You can bump the dash on the under side passenger side. And the fan should come on. If so the relay needs replaced.

Ive gone thru this THREE TIMES w/ my '99! Theres a thin, rubber vacuum hose that wears thin, gets dirt/oil/water in it & shorts a relay. The last mechanic replaced the hose w/ steel brakeline & Ive had no problems for 2 yrs.

99 GMC sonoma will start with starting fluid then

The 99 GMC, when it acts up, check whether it has fuel and/or spark. It could be related to fuel pressure, available electrical power, ignition component/s.

Get a female garden hose adapter from the local hardware store. Disconnect the heater hose from behind the fan pulley and attach the hose connection. Disconnect the other heater hose behind the alternator, aim it towards the ground and flush water through the heater core. This worked on my truck.
