What causes engine misfires to stay after new plugs and coil packs?

Try swapping the coil packs around - like swap #1 with #2, and swap #6 with #5, see if the misfires MOVE with the coil packs swapped to the new cylinders or if they stay with the cylinders. If they move with the coil packs, the new coil packs are bad. If they stay with the cylinders, there's a problem with those cylinders. You DID replace that camshaft sensor, right?

Have you checked your #1 and #6 injectors?

Hi i have 2.4 vvti lpg converted 05 plated previa which 3rd cylinder is misfiring and the throttle is excess about 15% can any one guide me how much the cost to repair it or any suggestions.

i would start by moving the coil packs, take the coil pack from cylinder 1 and put it on cylinder 3 and if your misfire switches to the no.1 cylinder you need a coil pack, It would probably run you about a 100$ for the coil pack

6th cylinder misfiring

I've seen a lot of these cars with bad coils. Try swapping around the 6th coil, to a different cylinder, to see if the misfire moves with the bad coil. That way, you can pinpoint if that coil is indeed bad.

Plugged in computer diagnostic and was getting a misfire reading for the 5th and 6th cylinder. Plus how do you replace the fuel filter?

Fuel filter is probably not going to get it done for you. change spark plugs if they haven't been recently and check ignition coils or ignition coil pack, and spark plugs wires. Good Luck

Lexus 2002 RX300 - What is it when the Trac Off, VSC & Check Engine lights are on and the DTC code says cylynder 1 and 6 misfire

You could have a bad coil pack or a bad fuel injector. swap out the coil packs from the misfiring cylinders and put them in the cylinders that are known to be firing correctly to narrow it down to determine if it is the coil pack first. When is the last time you changed the spark plugs? Pull them out of the misfiring cylinders to check the condition of the plugs.

I have a 2002 TrailBlazer with the straight 6,diognostic check said #3 cylinder was dead or misfiring, also map sensor showed up. #3 cylinder was misfiring, so to test the coil pack I swapped #3 coil pack...

did you replace only one spark plug? that can cause issues because of differences in resistances between cylinders. also, did the map code stay off after replacing
?
